VIN #\'s ........how do they work ?

Here are a few VIN's on 2004 SRT's : 1B3JZ65Z44V100052, 1B3JZ65Z84V100135

Are the car numbers #52 and #135 ? Are they in order ? So if I new a vin# I could tell when it was getting closer ? How many cars a day or week does cap produce ?

sorry generally the cars are not built in consecutive order, or i should say they rarely are. the '98 GT1 replicas were. i think the first run of '03s were, possibly also the '02 FE's. other than that i think the vin is not indictive of build order.

I see your point.....but with Roofs and my GTS, I don't think so. And we are smart enough to keep it that way

The information about VIN's on the web site is out of date and has some errors in it.

As for the sequence in the numbers, they are not in order do to many reasons. Sometimes due to color runs or when orders where placed in the system.

Usually CAAP will produce 0 to 15 cars a day.
