Hello Viper Drivers-

It is hard to believe the but the start of the 2008 season is only 4 weeks away!

There are alot of rumors of what safety requirements you need to run with us....below is a brief synopsis of what you will need:

One of the most popular forms of enjoyment for Viper owners is high performance driving. Far too many owners currently take their enthusiasm for the raw power of the Viper to the city streets and country roads – sometimes with unfortunate results. Viper Days offers the opportunity for Viper owners to explore the limits of their cars and themselves as drivers in a legal, highly disciplined, and safe environment.
Far too many owners of Dodge Vipers have had accidents during the early term of their ownership. In large part, this results from the very reason the individual purchased a Viper in the first place: its unique power and handling characteristics.
We strive to make a positive impact on the lives of Viper owners and their families by teaching proper car handling and defensive driving techniques, specifically for the Dodge Viper. The most critical aspects of our teaching cannot be obtained from textbooks or inside school cars that do not resemble the Viper in terms of power to weight ratio, throttle response, cornering attitude, braking and traction. The most effective method of instruction is inside the student's own Viper.
Safety is the most important component to driving a fast car competently. Yes we require a hard top or roll bar for the RT/10's … for safety. If there is a roll over the driver has no protection.
The stock Viper is fast and complicated. Torque is the hardest thing to control and that is what we concentrate on. We try to make the driver and car one!

We offer classroom and in car instruction for your track weekend.
What do you need?
a. Long sleeve shirt and pants
b. Closed toe shoes with soft sole
c. Current car helmet (NOT motorcycle)
d. Willing to listen and go to classroom
e. Stay within ones self
f. Your car:
a. Fresh brake fluid
b. All fluids full and fresh
c. Tires checked and wheels

That is all you need to come to Viper Days and learn about YOU and your Viper!
If you have any questions please e or call me.
[email protected] or 847-922-3324

Hope to se you at the track,
Skip

Thanks for clearing that up, Skip! I know quite a few of us have been debating on the exact requirements.

Assuming you aren't being facetious, I think it's a mistype. I think he meant "safety".

I think 2002_ACR knows that, just havng a little fun with Skip. One question in regards to the RT/10 requirement of the hard top, could the soft top be substituted? Some may not have a hard top. Don't see much difference between the RT and SRT tops. Both are soft, right? ;)

Just a heads up, but that is not Skip posting, it is Courtney, who is the Ops manager for the whole deal. :)
See you next month Courtney!

The srt convertable also requires a hard top or roll bar.We have Roll Hoops that can be installed at the track for the rookie drivers to use while the find out if they want to take there car to the next level and have a roll bar installed.Another note on the Gen 1 and Gen 2 RTs the hard top must be a Factory top or Autoform top.The 3 piece top folding top will not be allowed unless you have a custom roll bar that fits under the top.Hope to see you at the track. If you have any other questions feel free to contact me at [email protected]
