Viper destruction

This is probably old news to most of you, but The Drive is running a piece on the Vipers that were destroyed after serving their purpose at trade schools years ago including B&W's. I stated to watch the video but couldn't hit the play button. Bottom line is they're our pride and joy, but to the makers they're just cars. Sad.

It's understandable. To Chrysler they are really a liability, and it's not like they just made 1 or 2 of them. Those they have saved, though they have required a fair deal of restoration to keep in good shape.

I design industrial trucks for a living and while it's not nearly as glamorous as a sports car, we've had our fair share of prototypes that have been cut up and reused or thrown away because we can't legally do anything with them. The engines might not be emission certified or the parts were all made crudely just to test function kind of stuff. You could never sell it so it just stays on the books as depreciating inventory.
