Found one used. Been looking for wings for a while. what would a good price for a used one (The GT2,GTSR) Doesn't partsrack peddle autoforms New single plane one for 2k to 2.5k? The gentleman is asking 3,500 for this style. Is that out of line?

Good guy, He has the GT2 Wing on his car and (as far as I know) can get them give him a call or email him (he is a supplier in the supplier section of this site) Save some $$ on the Exchange too, a member of the Ontario VCA.

GTS-R??? Is this the Team Oreca carbon fiber wing? If so, you won't be able to open your rear glass. Brand new the Oreca wing runs between 4K and 6K depending on who you know.

Question re mounting a wing. Seems every one I have seen mounts to the rear of the car body in some fashion rather than directly to the frame. I thought that most "real" racing wings mounted directly to the frame to avoid compression of the dampers at the rear end and thereby compromising their ability to handle road irregularites and "low speed" load shifts.

Does anyone's wing mount directly to the frame ? Mine doesn't.

RockyTop,

The ORECA wing (McCann Racing, Archer Racing) looks like it mounts to the rear deck but it actually bolts through the body panel to an aluminum bracket that is mounted to a rear structural component of the car. This is the carbon fiber one most of the VRL guys are running. I believe the older style ORECA wing (Autoform, TNT, Archer?) also bolts through the rear body panel to a structural support. As does the dual plane wing from Parts Rack.

Wings that generate real amounts of downforce will deflect the body panel and do all sorts of nasty things to the handling of the car.

Regards,
