Looking for a camera mount. Viper innovation's looks like an easy install. On teir web site,it looks like it blocks a lot of your view out of the side of the car.

Anybody have one or any suggestions on a better one.

Thanks
Ralph

I have one of their mounts and have well over 30 track days using it. It's a great non-expensive set up. It installs quickly and when not in use is out of the way. Your view will not be hindered in any way if installed properly.
Good luck.

I laughed when I got this set up in the mail. It didn't come with assembly or installation instructions, and after thinking I got it assembled correctly, I wasn't sure how to install it in the car (I was at the track at the time.) My race buddy was with me and he couldn't figure it out either. RedSled, had I known you had one, I would have asked you (that was the day I ripped my wheel off at Button Willow.) Wasn't until recently that I saw the instructions were posted at their web site.

I ended up borrowing a camera mount from another racer at the track which was awesome. So I went out and bought one the next day. It's an IO Port camera mount which looks 100X better and works 10X better for just a little more cost. You can control any angle on this thing.

You can order these from West Coast Viper, I believe, or get them directly from the manufacturer.

Only thing is you need a roll bar of some kind to mount it to.

So for you GTS owners without a rollbar, is there ANY other alternative to this ViperInnovations deal which looks like you have bathroom plumbing running through your car? I want something I can leave in my car all the time in case I want to record some road kills.

Manny, sorry about your trouble re: the camera mount... Works perfect for me. I can take some photos and send it to you. Make sure everything is tight.. That's the key.. I would still recommend it..
