First, off, try doing a
search on this site with words like "insurance". There are a LOT of threads on this subject with some good ideas. Here are mine:
1. Try State Farm. There are a
lot of Viper owners that use them. I paid around $900 a year for my 2003 SRT with full coverage.
2. Multi-car discounts are very helpful and can often lower your cost by 25% or more. If you don't have another car, buy a $500 ******, throw it in a garage, and insure it for the absolute minimum. Might cost you $150 a year to insure it, but will lower your Viper insurance by a lot more than that.
3. Determine the number of miles you will drive in a year (best guess) and buy a "casual use" policy. That will also lower your costs considerably. Beware of some "specialty companies" that offer collector car insurance for cheap. We have heard horror stories of people being denied claims because they were using the car to do an errand or something ordinary. The company said it had to be a collector car related drive (show, etc.) and denied their claims. Yuck. Most of your "regular" companies such as State Farm, Farmers, etc. will not be so restrictive.
These are just a few things off the top of my head. Enjoy your Viper!
