Who's found the best Insurance pricing on their Viper ? I drive the toy cars about 2000 miles a year but AAA wants $3k for full coverage for my Viper. More than double the cost of other high dollar cars. Any suggestions out there will be appreciated.
BTW...I live in California
Thanks
Bob

I use Nationwide for my Viper. My agent is a Vette guy and knows all the loopholes for providing insurance inexpensively without compromising coverage. PM me if want contact info.

First, off, try doing a search on this site with words like "insurance". There are a LOT of threads on this subject with some good ideas. Here are mine:

1. Try State Farm. There are a lot of Viper owners that use them. I paid around $900 a year for my 2003 SRT with full coverage.

2. Multi-car discounts are very helpful and can often lower your cost by 25% or more. If you don't have another car, buy a $500 ******, throw it in a garage, and insure it for the absolute minimum. Might cost you $150 a year to insure it, but will lower your Viper insurance by a lot more than that.

3. Determine the number of miles you will drive in a year (best guess) and buy a "casual use" policy. That will also lower your costs considerably. Beware of some "specialty companies" that offer collector car insurance for cheap. We have heard horror stories of people being denied claims because they were using the car to do an errand or something ordinary. The company said it had to be a collector car related drive (show, etc.) and denied their claims. Yuck. Most of your "regular" companies such as State Farm, Farmers, etc. will not be so restrictive.

These are just a few things off the top of my head. Enjoy your Viper!

I have Allstate for my 04 and I only pay $530.00 every 6 months with $1000.00 deductable. Which is all I get to drive it here in Illinois. I asked my agent to double check the rate because it seemed way to low.

Holy cow! $3K a year in the Bay Area. I live in the Bay Area and only pay $1300 a year on my 1998 GTS for full coverage with AAA. I'm 33, married, with 3 vehicles.
