Have the car ever done this before? I have a couple of ideas, but would need to talk with you in a little detail. We can try to hook up when you are back online. You can send me a private message and we can exchange numbers and talk.

It could be your Idle control valve..it get clogged and needs to be cleaned out for it to work right. I've done mine when I had the 1994 and it seemed to cure it.

Was the car on a battery tender?
Did you need to jump the battery to get started?
If the battery runs low, it is my understanding that the car will run rough for a little while until the computer on board "learns" the correct settings again for proper engine/systems function.

DON'T DRIVE IT!!!!! unless you want to be stranded. It happened to me as a matter of fact. Same thing happened to the car. The only diff. was that I needed to get towed back home. Did he car start back up after it turned off? If it did, don't drive it until you change the "fuel pump relay". It is in the rear right of the runk. Change it now while you can save yourself the embarassment of getting stranded. I ordered 2 extra and I keep one in the trunk handy now. Order them on monday. I'll get te relay part # after I search the site, so check back soon.

I HAD A 94 DOING THE SAME THING AND THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE THROTTLE CABLES ARE COMEING OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. MY VIPER TEK PULLED UP A DODGE SERVICE BULLETIN ON ALL GEN 1 CARS. THEY SELL A KIT FOE LIKE 5.00 DOLLARS THAT DRILLS INTO THE MOUNT AND INSTALLS A SET SCREW SO THAT THE THROTTLE CABLES DONT LOOSEN AND FALL OUT OF ADJUSTMENT. ONCE I DID THIS I COULD FLOOR THE GAS AND DRIVE HARD ALL DAY LONG WITH A GREAT IDLE. I BET THIS IS THE DEAL. HOPE IT HELPS.

Before you try anything (and there is no check engine light), I would recommend that you check your battery to make sure it is fully charged. Hook up a charger to it and bring it up to full charge.
Then start it up, and carefully drive it down your block bringing it to a stop several times.

This is a very common symptom of cars with weak, dead, or discharged batteries. Happened to me personally on several occasions. The PCM needs to see a minimal voltage in order for it to function properly. As you come to a stop, the idle drops, and if the alternator does not kick-in in time, the voltage will drop too low and the car will stall out.

Let me know how this works out. If it does not solve the problem, there are a few other things to look at that I would be more than happy to walk you through over the phone.

Good luck.

I'd go with LTHL VPR! A weak battery will definitely cause this condition.

...also try tightening all the battery leads, even the ones in the engine bay. Clean all the leads too while you are at it.
