I get frustrated when someone says there is a big meet at say, "Norwalk" and then they don't say where it is.

For instance the last Viper Days event... I spent time trying to find out where it was and didn't. Then someone told me it was in TX some where... Still don't know where it is.

So where is Norwalk. and why haven't I heard about it sooner?

However, I'll be in NV so this one is academic...

The thougt of going to Norwalk crossed our minds. I have talked with Mark Heidecker and we will both go if the same deal is offered to us that we are offering to the rest of the viper nation in October. We would love to come up there but can you guys offer us travel, hotel and food expenses?

I have stayed out of this for the most part. I would love to come to Norwalk again and race on a GREAT track. I was there two years ago with the Nase's, Suloff, SVSi, and Roy from TNT. We made the long haul from Texas to only find that I was racing my hometown guy for the cash. Not that I did not enjoy it but to drive 24hrs and only have Roy to race did not seem like the trip was worth it for the thousands of dollars I spent. I was lucky enough to win the unlimited bracket and bring home the money but that was not the point. I am looking for COMPETITION and a good turnout. If a bunch of people would have gotten together and agreed to make the trip you could have counted me in but that did not happen. I tried to get a bunch to go but no luck due to the days off required, length of trip, expense, and lack of turnout. If someone knows of more people going please let me know because I still have time to wash the old Gen 1 RT/10 off (with a top end job ONLY), put some fuel in the truck and load the car on the trailer and show you what a good ole Texas A** Whooping would be with some 9 sec passes on the bottle and some 10 sec passes on the motor.

Scott, I do feel kind of funny offering the Hotel/entry fee ON THE HOUSE for some out of state action, but I feel it is one of the things that we can offer (along with the best competition in the world)that NO ONE can or will (Good ole Texas Hospitality). we are going to have many classes Stock, Modified 1, Modified 2 and Unlimited(Run what ya brung)classes with Cash and Trophy waiting for the taking. so that means that we want People to come take our Money for Free.

Also, remember that Scott is "retired" with lots of time on his hands. Some of us are trading family vacation time to attend these events, at unknown locations and in the backyard, hometown track of those hosting the event.

They offered to compensate the Florida/NJ posse'. We did not ask for it. Its all part of marketing your event. Make it worthwhile and they will come.

Modified1=all Bolt on, Head & Cam No NOS,Turbo's or Superchargers, Stock Cubic Inch ALL MOTOR.
Modified2= Bolt on, Heads & Cam, NOS, Slicks times no faster than 10.49
Unlimited (run what ya brung)= Bolt on, Heads & Cam, stroked, Turbos, Supercharges, Nos all you want on a V-10.
things can change in some of these classes.
Prizes will be in the Thousands, I will let the racers decide if they want to split the money between 1-3 or they want top dog to take it all. we will also have prizes for top MPH and best reaction. I think the Texas boys might be worried Nase has got there Number. I love the classes in TX. We're paying thousands too. Our car counts looks like 18 to 20 right now.
That Mod 1 sounds like my cup of tea. If I can share a truck I'll be down. Right now a divorced guy barely kept his car. I'd love some of them Tex-Mex Vipers!!! Now How much Money are you guys paying??

Texas boys worried Nase might have our number?????? That is the funniest thing I have heard all day. Like I said,,,,,, get some FAST cars and I will show... With Nase only going high 10's, that is not going to do the trick... So tell ole Nick at Modern Performance to keep working on that "race car" they have and to give me a yell when they are ready... When I get the call, I will get the old GEN I, RT/10 out of retirement, take it out of its daily use as a daily driver and slap the slicks on and be ready... Just let me know...

Waiting to bag me ya say.... Well, if they got the car, ET, and the mph to do that then ALL I can say is bring it to Texas in Oct and we will lay it all on the line. I can promise we will have the best turnout for any Viper drag event you have ever seen along with the money to go with it. Just a little FYI, a high 9 in the 1/4 in Oct in Texas will not bring home the honors. SO far all of the people that think a high 9 is the answer, go back to the drawing board and find some more power to go a little quicker to keep up with the best in TEXAS!!!!!!

Why hasn't there been any mention of the 9 sec runs, As any old street racer knows you don't show your cards till the money is down. Too bad you guys won't be here to witness it. Speaking of money just what is the purse in Houston?

All I have to say is, if you think you got the car to beat me then make your plans to come in Oct. and that will tell the tale. With all this horsepower all of these guys are making and what little power I have it is amazing that I have been able to get my car to produce the times it has... I could only dream about getting the dyno numbers the rest of you have, like 800hp and over 1000 Tq. on the bottle like some Jersey guys have... Best of luck to ALL of you in Norwalk and I wish I could have been there to enjoy in all the fun.

That is exactly the point! Maybe as a promoter you understand. We had the biggest purse in Viper Drag Racing $8000. Unfortunately; the dyno racers didn't show to support some of the their claims. I'll say though the TX boys, Roy and Mark did make the trip and Ron from SVS.

You have Maybe $2000, Norwalk pays $1750 in the bracket purse alone. Depending on the Heads up car count and commitments of tuners and racer entries, the purse with eight cars is $5200.

So, like you I get a little tired of the whinning about the purse and the travel. It's a long trip from TX and I understand. But where are the rest of the forced air and dental supply cars in the mid west. Come out a show us your stuff!!
Best of luck with your event, wish I could made it. Give us a little credit and support up here on the North Coast.
