I see that some people have put the RB1 navigation unit in their vehicle. I read something on the internet where a guy was saying "I know it won't work in 2005 and up models" which doesn't affect me as mine is an 04 but what should I be asking to me sure that what I get will drop right in? Will ANY RB1 model work in my car? What is the difference between ones that I see on ebay and ones that come in the 08 Viper as an option? Anything I need to specifically avoid?
I know some think the unit ***** but it's fairly cheap and I don't have really high standards for the Nav unit other than it be able to get me from A to B and give me the ability to add Sirius to my 2004 car.
Any and all info that will make this nearly painless would be appreciated.

The RB1 and iPod Kits will work in ALL SRT-10 Vipers, from 03-08.
However, when adding Sirius into the mix on the 06+ cars which utilize a factory-installed Sirius Connection Cable, there have been sporadic problems, maybe 3 cases or so in the last year. While we have never had the combined system issue ourselves [thus making is extrememly difficult to properly diagnose] we have had enough feedback to know there is the potential for odd system glitches when the system is combined using the factory cable. 9 times out of 10, replacing the cable between the iPod Kit and Sirius Module fixes the issue and will allow them to work properly. Most people however just stick with the iPod and never bother reconnecting or installing the Sirius service. [If you car shipped without Sirius, the cable is not connected on the other side anyway]
Of note, '08 cars also have a sporadic system compatibility issue with the iPod Kits themselves. There are about 2 cases out there of 2008 cars that would just plain not except the iPod Kits. I am still working on making some time to get myself down to New York City to view one of these cars and attempt to figure out what is going on with it.
Lastly, I should note I have never, ever heard of any compatibility issue on ANY car through 2005 with any combination of systems. The only elephant in the room in this case is the cable pre-installed in '06+, nothing else changed.
