Our mounts are pretty pricey and have even gone up in the last year, but believe me it is costly to do a small run each time there are more made, I would suggest getting them while you can, increases are inevitable at some point and then they may not be financially worth making anymore just because of the price point. I hope that does not happen, but I know that some already think they are too high. We do sell 10-12 sets a month now though so they are still the most popular and 99% of buyers are happy with them.

mjorgensen- Thanks for your info. I am just looking around at the different options for mounts to read what people have to say about them, etc. Typically I don't hurry and buy something solely because the seller tells me he is going to raise the price soon/get them while supplies last.

Ya, maybe it's just the person I am, but it seems like I can study things out for months before I come to a conclusion on what to buy. I am no business-man, but typically I thought products decrease in price the more that are sold over time because of the offsetting the initial cost. But what do I know. :)

I should just sell the Viper and buy a Mustang

I had a 93 fox body 5.0 mustang AND a 76 mustang II like that one. I went viper because they are **** and unique....down side is being ***** from every direction by people selling parts. Viper parts sellers have virtually no competition so they make up atrocious prices and use the "it is this price because they are high quality parts" excuse as a reason to do it. GTSR-001 seems to be the only guy that sells his performance parts at respectable/not gouging prices.

Thing is if i went mustang I would want a 69-70 model....oh so ****.

A set of factory engine mounts for a 1993 Mustang is between $240 and $396 depending on the production date. My mounts were from ROE and they were $322 for the set.

I agree there can be a Viper Tax. I could have went back to stock mounts for about $160 for the set but I wanted the upgrade. I'm glad I also ordered the mount for the transmission. Mine was completely detached.

Im not sure what you mean by "70," but id want a 69 model too. :)

I installed the Woodhouse engine and transmission mounts in my 2002 RT/10. The mounts are a direct bolt in, had no problems installing them. I do notice a slight vibration at idle, I have read that this goes away but after 3000 plus miles it is still there, but it is not very noticable. Definitley improved the feel of the car. As far as price for a low production car I thought it was resonable, Ford makes more Mustangs in a month than Dodge made Vipers in twenty years, so parts are going to cost more for the Viper.

This is my first post on this forum in years, but I've had my viper since 2006 and remember reading this very thread in 2007 when I went to change my motor mounts. Well back then I thought that the 250 that Woodhouse got for a set was too expensive and so after reading this thread I decided to go with the polybushings less expensive mounts.

Sadly today I have to report that after 5 years approximately 20k miles later the polybushings mounts are flatter than pancakes they are completely shot. I also don't know how long they have been like this for, as I don't get underneath my viper and look around at it as often as I used too, but I'd be willing to guess that they've been worn out for a couple of years probably.

I went ahead and got the woodhouse mounts last week in the mail, and yes per Mark's reply in one of the responses the price had gone up, but if these dont' have to be changed out again later on, it will have been worth it. I'm not switching them til next week sometime but I'll take pics of the polybushing ones that come out of the car so people can see how they did after a few thousand miles. My guess without really knowing is that the heat from the engine was just too much for these mounts, I don't believe they were intended for the viper specifically and I do even remember having to put shims in as was explained here as well.

So long term even though the majority of this thread hypes up these polybushings mounts the overall long term results for me were not good.

Just getting ready to change out motor and tranny mounts on my 96'. Tried the Woodhouse mounts on my 06' but vibration was too much afterwards for my liking. I will probably go stock mounts, however the Woodhouse ones were very well built. Might be different on a loose 17 year old car than a 2 year old tight 06' when I tried them. I could not even look out the rear view mirror after as it shook so bad. Maybe the experience would be different on an older GEN. Anyone have an experience?

Had them installed in my 2001 a couple of years ago and vibrations were and still are barely noticeable. Haven't missed a shift since :)

I installed them in my 95. There is more vibration but it doesn't bother me. It isn't bad enough to vibrate the mirrors. With my exhaust noise and rough ride (due to lowering) a little more vibration isn't even noticeable. Rides and drives like a race car.

I noticed an increase in vibration when first installed which would not have been acceptable to me if it was a Vette daily driver; but, in any event, the vibration was not noticeable after a couple hundred miles.

Thanks guys! Detlef, I will have to go for a ride with you and check them out on your GEN II sometime. I yanked them out of my GEN III Coupe I had after about 50 miles. It was shaking everything including my kidneys. However on an older GEN I, especially an RT/10 with that open top, it just might not be as tight or bad as I experienced in a tight car. Mine are shot and will be a winter project to do all the maintenance to get it up to par.

Well everybody, here they are as a follow up. Polybushings mounts after 5 years and 20k miles of being in the car. Drivers side fell apart as i was taking it out, passenger side was smashed like a pancake. Installed Woodhouse mounts. We'll see how they do.

Is 5 years/20,000miles that bad of a time to have mounts go bad? I have a receipt for new factory mounts that were installed in 2009...and it hasnt been near 20,000 miles and I am having trouble shifting into second and it has the dreaded wheel hop

Just so its clear, 5 years and 20k is about when I changed them again. I think they failed a while ago though, maybe even 2 years ago. Mounts aren't really supposed to be a wear item I don't think. I have a feeling the polybushings mounts would have been fine in a more typical motor. But with all the heat and torque of a viper motor I just don't they were meant for it.

I changed my stock motor and trans mounts to Woodhouse this past Friday and the only difference in vibration I notice is for a split second upon start-up. After that, I really can't tell any vibration difference.

I just recieved my motor mount and trans mount from woodhouse cant wait to get it installed and go for a test drive :drive:

Still haven't done this yet haha. What other companies are there? I see summit doesn't carry them anymore. So woodhouse, RSI (will they ever arrive?), and polybushings? Am I missing some?

So I have a question regarding the polyurethane ones. I ran polyurethane bushings on all my suspension components on my last car since they were an "upgrade" over stock. It wasn't a viper and they were suspension, not engine/transmission mounts. My question is this... has anyone had the polyurethane ones long enough to notice and squeaking/noise from them. When I used them in my suspension they were fantastic for about a year and then it was a lot of squeaking. They lasted good, but they squeaked about every damn time I went over a bump. Made for embarrassing racket when I pulled into a parking lot and drover over speed bumps.

I would hate to buy engine mounts/trans mount and have the damn thing sitting there squeaking at idle after a year or so.

I never heard any noises out of the poly mounts. I think that noises would be impossible since the poly is bonded to the metal, unlike in a suspension bushing where the poly is pressed in and can move relative too the metal sleeve.

I did notice additional vibration when I first installed the engine & trans mounts; but, that became unnoticeable after a few months. This observation has been reported by other folks, also.
