Viper Status?

I got a recent VCA email that stated:

"It’s official — the legendary Dodge Viper is here to stay! The ultimate American sports car will continue to redefine performance standards and shatter expectations for years to come."

How about some clarification of that statement? Pure hyperbole? Actual confirmed news of Dodge either retaining it or a signed deal transfering it? Something in between?

I'm pretty sure everyone has been wondering about whether Dodge was going to sell or keep Viper, and there hasn't been a big public discussion on here about it lately, so the above statement made me wonder.

I had already gone to youtube but didn't see a date. Why did this not get bigger coverage earlier? I'm on here every day and saw endless threads on "death of viper" and "sale of viper?" but no big sticky'd thread on this, seems like it would have been worth major posting. Or how about an email to the membership when it came out? Seems like that would have made sense.
