Viper Tech recommendations

Non-warranty I would just take it to Mitch at Reed Brothers. Warranty? Not sure. Does the new Criswell Dodge have a Viper Tech? I have heard to stay away from Darcars in Rockville.
With the dealership closings this past year I no longer have a working relationship with any local techs. Century in Mt. Airy may have one, you could call there and ask for Jay in Dodge Service (301) 829-1440. I have used them for warranty work on other vehicles and they have done a nice job.
BTW, what's wrong with the car?

I was at the track on Monday and was having some issues with missing 3rd gear. Having never had that issue before I thought it was odd and chalked it up to a cold day. On the way home I noticed I could up shift thru all the gears but could not downshift from 6th to 5th. I ended up going from 6th to 4th just to up shift to 5th. The only time I can downshift from 6th to 5th is when the car is not moving.
I used to go to Montrose Dodge in Germantown. Their Viper tech is still there but they are not a dealer anymore. I believe I might have a little bit of the powertrain warranty left.

i am the person john was talking about. i had the exact same problem. the good news is you can get to the 5th and 6th gears and fork by removing the tail shaft. there are plastic tabs the cover both sides of the shifter fork. i broke off the tabs on the 5th gear side so 6th gear worked fine. i had the tabs and 5th gear replaced for a total of $250 including labor... oh i did remove the transmission myself though... now if you need 3rd gear work that is a totally different story...lol..
