Why power steering cap? The car can catch fire because of that?

JiPi, You need to do a search on power steering caps as they tend to loosen, and when they do, your car can end up in flames. There is an improvement made by Hipo Engineering (?) that will solve this problem and for $20-30 should be mandatory on every viper. A couple dealers handle this part but not sure which ones. Check it out.

If that is true, where the hell is the factory re-call?

No recall? Pretty simple. Problem was fixed in 2003 with new design. Not enough Vipers made or people who know this caused their fire to make a case to Dodge. Roe Racing and Archer Racing sell the fix.
