F-16 is known as Fighting Falcon AND VIPER. Here's what I sent out to the AZ Club last week...
You've heard about the drag race of the SRT-10 and Comp Coupe against an F-16 at Luke. You may have even heard that "RIPLEY’S BELIEVE IT OR NOT IS SCHEDULED TO BE TELEVISING THIS INCREDIBLE EVENT", You may also know that the F-16 is formally known as the Fighting Falcon.
BUT, did you know the fighter pilots informally named the F-16 "VIPER" ? Not Vette, not Cobra, not Jaguar, but VIPER. The F-16, because of its lethality, has earned an impressive combat record in the Middle East and in the Balkans. Operated by 21 air forces across the globe, the F-16 has won 70 air-to-air battles without a loss, even against the MiG-29 Fulcrum. There are nearly 1,000 F-16s stationed in Europe with nine air forces.
Can the Jet handle? How about 9-G's? With a full load of internal fuel, the F-16 can withstand up to nine G's -- nine times the force of gravity -- which exceeds the capability of other current fighter aircraft.
We'll have our ultra hi performance Vipers parked around these ultra high performance aircraft that weekend.
A Total Viper Event!

What is an 'Air Force Viper Jet'? I'm not familiar with that name...is that also an F-16, or a different jet? I always thought the F-16 was called the Fighting Falcon...whatever plane they use, it will be a good race.
