I finally took delivery of my yellow 2002 Rt/10 this morning at about 10 am. When the truck arrived I looked like  then when I was ready to get in :headbang: when I first mashed the gas  and the rest of the entire day was kind of like :D

Can't remember to many times I have been this excited. I am only 25 so maybe the birth of my child and marriage are the other two and they are a different type of excitement.

Couple of questions: MY snake is running on the warm side what is the normal temp? Is the engine or exhaust I guess supposed to smell a little different? And lastely where the hell is the hood release (the dealer is overnighting the owner's manual)?

If it's the same as my 1995, there are two releases. First, reach in the bottom/left-most opening in the grille up front. Reach back and pull the lever down. Second, there will now be a gap between the hood and the front bumper. Reach into the gap up front (on drivers side, next to head light) and push that lever towards the passenger side of the car. Sounds confusing, but there are only two latches and they are REALLY simple once you know where they are - it'll take you 5 seconds once you find them. Enjoy the ride man! I too am 25 and whew - what a blast.

Be careful when closing the hood too. Bring the back end back down, then with the palms of your hands placed on either side of the NACA duct at the top corners, press the hood down 'till it latches then give it a firm push to get her done. If you open the hood and look in the area near the NACA duct on the inside, you will get an idea of where your hands need to be. You should see the hood supports near that same area. This is what you want to press against when closing the hood. If you don't you are pushing rather ******* a weaker part of the hood which may result in cracking.

Good Luck and have fun!

I think you made a wonderful choice.

By the way, If you press the hood release lever and it doesn't open sometimes (probably too dry) just pull up on the NACA duct and you will be fine.

Congrats on the car viperbound :2tu: . Have fun keeping the yellow clean(the bugs love it), I know I do. My car is the same as yours and it generally runs around the third mark at 190. The smell you are talking about is probably the composite smell of the body. I know the smell in mine is worse when the exhaust heats up. Have Fun and ENJOY from another 2002 Yellow RT/10 owner.
