I've owned by Viper for a little over 7 years now, very rarely has it ever gotten me a chance at a date. Of the girlfriends I've taken for a drive in it, they get that its a raw "car" but it doesn't impress them the way my Viper impresses me. If I wanted to impress a woman, I also drive a Mercedes SL500 and that does the trick with women just fine.....however I don't like that it impresses them, which is why it only has 13k miles on it and it's an '03. (my Viper has 87k miles on it) I've found that women who would date a man because of his choice of car, are too shallow for my taste and the relationships fade quickly when they find out they don't get to drive my cars or somehow get enrolled in the "purse of the month club" because I'm doing well.
I wouldn't buy any car to impress a woman and wouldn't suggest anyone else do that either....its just not worth it.
I met two women one evening at an upscale restaurant in Burlingame, CA...one single, one married. The married friend initiated the conversation with me to help her single friend. After a few topics, it came around to things we are passionate about... I mentioned I am a car lover and collect cars and that I dream of having 150 cars, each with a unique personality and purpose. The married woman was impressed and the single woman said I was insane. I countered with "What if I said I collected art instead of cars, would that make me more interesting to you?". The single woman exclaimed that "an art collector would be way better than a car collector" and I responded with "and that's why you're gonna be single for a long time! Cars can appreciate just as much as art and besides, doing the maintenance is something you can share with your children, which will likely build a stronger bond to them. Asking your children to help you dust off the art collection just doesn't have the same "bonding effect". The married friend laughed right in her friends face and female bartender then comped me a drink...I guess she liked my response.
Regards,
Aaron
P.S. I am bringing a longtime (14 years) female friend to VOI and she'll be the 1st woman to ever drive my Viper.
