so after 55,000 miles my ten year old viper developed its second issue, first was a bad temp sending unit, my drivers side window motor is slowly dying and needs replacing.

is this a dyi job and what are the possiblities of getting a motor?

of course I will try parts rack etc. any suggestions?

not bad for a car that i put on 47,000 miles on in 3 years!

talk about rock solid and still a beast.
try that with your porsche, lambo, ferrari........

Drivers side motor is the first to go. You can replace it yourself. Tator or JonB should be able to get you a replacement. New is kind of pricey. Being so I see a market for rebuilds if anyone has the entrepreneurial spirit.

hmmm, my dirversside motor was slow when i first got her 2 years ago.
After taking apart my doors and relubing everything on the inside(window ttracks and motor rails, everything is fine now. Perhaps the increased resistance from everything drying up in there is what causes the motors to fail.

Lube em up:2tu:

i took a bunch of pics when i did mine but never got around to doing a writup. If anyone gets stuck on anything related to the doors feal free to PM me for my phone# and i'll help the best i can.

Also a good time to tighten the GTS's door handles that can get loose over time.
