OK- www.voi10.com is up and running. Registration will be open tomorrow.

Who is going, who is driving, route plans, which hotel, stay for the race..and anything else you can think of.

We will be driving approximately 500 miles per day (and I think it is 2353 miles) so I'm thinking it's 4 good days going. Since I got a ticket going to VOI 9, I'll brobably keep the speed down just a bit on this trip. We will probably do I-90 a good portion of the way, but other routes will work for us. I'm leaning towards the MGM Grand for the hotel, and plan to stay for the race. Return will be direct route after the event.:drive:

If anyone is going to trailer, I would like to reserve a space for a small box of goodies (helmet etc.).

We should discuss this at the next gathering at Sharon & George's house.:headbang:

Cheers

I'm going. I'm new to the club. I'm probably flying over without my car.

theamigo- I've gone to the last 6. In Nashville we did not take our car. THAT will NEVER happen again. A VOI without a Viper is worthless. I mean it. Others will agree. If there is any way to go with your car, do it!
Counting you, we are up tp 5 driving.:usa:

PM me with your e-mail address, and I'll get you added to the trip planning.:headbang:

I registered and paid as of today for the VOI-10 and hotel room at the Moter City. At this point I will be towing the car and leaving five days befor so I can play on the way. I need to locate hotels for the drive over and will be driving alone unless Joanie changes her mind. She has commented that she will be driving back with me but needs to catch a plane over. If anyone wants to share the driving to Detroit let me know but do plan on flying back unless Joanie changes her mind.

I just finished registering for my first VOI. We have hotel reservations at the Motor City Casino Hotel.

We are planning to drive our RT-10 to Detroit and we plan to talk to lots of people about the best way to do this. We want to learn about going in a group and what kind of time it will take to get there. Hope to talk to people at the dinner or upcoming party.

I remember that ticket Paul:) I was right behind you.
I am looking at getting myself a trailer, I think I will be towing.
I need to get this sold off at work yet but I am pretty sure I will be going.

Where did you find it Clint?
I had to go to North Cal to get mine!
Yes, $500 is the right price, but you might have to pay add'l $hipping.

I found the trailer on craigslist in Seattle.
I just bought a deflector at freeway trailers in Fife, paid 450 for it. They carry Sloan Kwikload trailers and stock some parts.

Here is what I have outlined so far for the trip to Detroit.

I also mapped 4 days to get there (so we are leaving on Saturday Aug 23).
My planned travel is about 10 hours at an average speed of 60 mph per day.
We plan to stay at Best Westerns or the equivalent and will hopefully hit under $100 per night.

Day one- starts in Seattle, travels route 90 and ends in Butte, Montana. Approximately 601 miles.
Day two Starts in Butte, travels route 90 and ends in Rapid City, South Dakota. Approximately 548 miles.
Day three starts in Rapid City, travels route 90 to Sioux Falls, and picks up route 29 south until we hit 680 east, and then route 80 to Des Moines, Iowa. Approximately 633 miles.
Day four starts in Des Moines, travels route 80 (small toll road south of Chicago), route 80/94 in Indiana changes to just route 94 the rest of the way into Detroit. Approximately 667 miles.

We welcome your comments and driving diversion suggestions along the route. Nothing is cast in stone at this point except the hotel which can be changed up to 24 hours prior to our stay.

So far the return might look similar in days and miles, but we have yet to figure that out. More info as the event gets closer!

Since we have so many miles to cover, I suspect we just might collect more folks from other states along the way!:usa:

I'm planning on meeting up with you guys somewhere along the way, unless I get distracted. I'll be a day in front of you at Butte.

This update just in..... regarding VOI-10....

It’s almost here! After all the planning and anticipation VOI.10 is just around the corner. We just wanted to share with you a few very important logistical notes that you can pass on to your members as we make final preparations.

Clothing Restrictions
All attendees that go the Chelsea Proving Grounds and the Milan Dragway must wear long pants. Also, open-toed shoes (includes Crocs or sandals of any type) and tank tops are prohibited at Chelsea , Milan and the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant (shorts are permitted at CAAP). These clothing requirements will be strictly enforced, so please be sure that your members plan accordingly. Also, the folks at the Milan Dragway would prefer that long sleeve shirts be worn while driving on the strip. Reminder: Your Chelsea/Milan driving day will either be on Thursday or Friday depending on whether you are in Group A or Group B. Please check the schedule in your onsite package when you arrive.

Your Driving Day and New News on the Panoramic Photo
Since the Chelsea Proving Grounds can accommodate smaller groups than previous VOI venues have been able to, on your scheduled driving day at Chelsea and Milan , you will be split into two even groups. Half the group will start at Chelsea and the other half at Milan and then after lunch the two groups switch. As we normally do, we tried to keep the Clubs together as much as possible. Each group will get their photo taken at Chelsea so instead of having 2 event photos we will have 4! Check your onsite package for your driving day schedule.

Helmets
Helmets will be required at Chelsea and Milan , so make certain that everyone who has a helmet brings it along. We will have a limited supply of helmets available for those members who do not own one.

Tops Up!
For convertible owners who will running on the drag strip at Milan , you must have your tops up or hard tops in place. No cars will be permitted to run on the strip with tops down. This requirement applies to the Milan Dragway only. Milan is an IHRA sanctioned facility.

Tour Days
As we mentioned to you several weeks ago, since Friday is a corporate holiday some of the clubs will tour the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant on Wednesday, including:

Motor City
Illinois
Colorado/Utah/Wyoming
Indiana/Kentucky
Western Canada
Switzerland
Ohio
Quebec
Virginia/Maryland
Gateway
Georgia
Ontario
Northern California (half the group)
West Virginia/Pennsylvania (half the group)
Arizona (half the group)

On Thursday, the clubs listed above will visit Chelsea . On Friday, the group will finish their tours with the Saleen Plant and Walter P. Chrysler Museum . All other clubs will tour CAAP, Saleen and the Chrysler Museum on Thursday and visit Chelsea and Milan on Friday.

Note: The management at CAAP has recently requested that parents bring a birth certificate for all children between the ages of 12 and 16 who will be touring the plant. And remember, no children under the age of 12 are allowed in the plant.

No Viper?
For those attendees who are not bringing their Viper, there will be a limited number of Vipers that SRT will supply at the driving venues ( Chelsea and Milan ). Please keep in mind there are quite a few attendees who are not bringing their cars, so driving time will be limited to give as many people as possible a chance to drive. Shuttles will also be available to all activities to accommodate non-driving guests.

See You in the “D”
That about wraps it up. If you have any questions, please call us at 866-864-2003. If not, we’ll see you in the “D” in just a few short days for the 10th Viper Owners Invitational!

If anyone in the WA region is still leaving with me on Saturday (seems like everyone is leaving earluier!)- I plan on leaving the North Bend Chevron by 8 AM, eastbound on Hwy 90.

I will follow the route/stops I listed above.

Cheers and have a safe (and no tickets) trip!:drive:

I left Nimpo at 2pm Fri. 550mi. before I could find a room to stay. Ended up in Milan, Wash. buy 12.50am. Where will everyone be staying in Butte? Best Western? May see you there if we stop in Sandpoint, Idaho or I find a tire shop that can instal my tire sensors and rebalance my tires ... for my Tire Pressure/Temperature Monitor System.

Thanks.

I did stop and try to get my sensors mounted. The tire valve stems are too thick for my Forgeline VR1s. Sensors are made for stock replacement, not skinny VR1 holes.

Met up with Washington Club guys (and girls) and now have another 2300mi. on my odometer. We're with 3 GTSs, a Gen 3 and an '08 with us as well as a trailered Sapphire/silver striped GTS (like mine) being trailered. Detroit tomorrow.

I'll try getting a Roe racing shop to give me a dyno tune tomorrow along the way to V0I. Otherwise I'll do what I can while at V0I.
