My car as some of you know is on its way to doug to do him magic. Was alittle bored tonight so I went on a few vendor websites and saw a few things that I liked. One was polished intake manifold. While I'm going there I thought about some billet aluminum valve covers not overlays. Again while there I figured to go with T & D roller rockers...Okay Tell me I need to get a life..LOL :D

So joe you think powder coated would look better on the valve covers or aluminum au natural.. thought I'd have DLM
SC VIPER engraved on it

Roller rockers for sure. What about some black/white or black/silver powder coated stuff? Mainfolds one color, tubes the other or even checkered? Just a thought.

I would powdercoat the extrude honed intake and valve covers black background with white writing/hilights

at the same time do your brake calapers (if you havent already)

Polished is a pain in the ****, go high quality chrome if you really want that look. If you go polish plan on spending time on a monthly basis in your engine bay rubbing and stroking. Been there done that, never again.

Chroming is not cost effective on these manifolds as the process can damage the injector seats not to mention the intake runners. We tried it and 3 different platers accross the country refused to touch them.As far as polishing them,Talk to anyone that has one of our polished intakes. They are as close to chrome as you can get.Every inch of the intake is polished to a mirror finish. Then we apply a special high temp clear that will not dull the look. These manifolds are absolutley maintenence free other than maybe a moist rag.We have manifolds out there that are on dailey driven vipers for more than three years and they look as good as the day they were installed

Gotta admit Scott's (Elite Motorsports) intakes look great. I'm not into chrome at all but his polished intakes suit me fine.
