Hi Guys,
Looking into buying/importing an early RT10 into Australia end on this year/start of 2020. Due to LHD laws, would need it to be 1995 make or earlier. Would be after one with a AC, hardtop roof, plexi windows and 40,000miles MAX. Wanting one in excellent condition aesthetically and mechanically.

Budget from $25k-30k USD (depending on miles). Have seen several examples of what I've described in or close to that range, so not just plucking a number out of thin air. Have done some research before posting.

I’ve imported cars from the US several times, so would be a hassle free sell with minimal effort from your end.

Again, this would be in about 6 months time so if you're thinking of letting your Viper go and want to spare the hassles of advertising and finding a buyer, please PM me now if you have what I'm after.

Thanks in advance

Hi James,

I have a 95 RT/10 with factory AC that will be coming for sale soon. I am familiar with shipping overseas, sent a few cars to Australia just over a year ago. If you are interested send me a PM. Thanks!

The early rt's are going up in price. You maybe able to get one for under $30,000 if it has 40,000 miles on it. Others are now going from $35, to 40,000.

Have been in discussion with an owner of one with 19,000miles, hardtop roof and windows (no original roof and window), without ABS for $28k. I know they down come up often like that, but they do pop up.

James, if it is super clean you should buy it and flip it. Those are strong 35k. No Gen1's had ABS.

Definitely a great price, but can’t import until December and with the unpredictable Australian exchange rate (keeps declining) it’s a gamble to lock in with a deposit. Wanting someone who is willing to do the deal end of year all together.

The Gen 1 had AC as an option, I think after ‘93. Seen plenty of 94-95 with it

Hey James if you can find 1 for 35000 in the USA convert it to Aus Dollars pay/for container/duty/gst/lct/compliance plate you are better of buying a right hand drive one in Australia

Still works out a lot cheaper than getting a RHD one here (minimum clean one is $80k) and I prefer LHD.

At $35k US works out to about $65-70k AUD once all those factors considered, at current exchange, which blows my budget... but looking at spending less, so should be able to get one for $55-60k landed.

There is a RHD one in Australia st the moment for $55k, but it’s had a GTS rear end custom moulded onto it, which looks a bit odd in my opinion with the rest of the RT10 body

No stamp duty required if 25 years old, as I can put it onto club plates in Victoria.

Have done all the calculations (have imported several other cars over the years) and very realistic in my budget once everything is factored in.

After Dec won’t have to import through RAWS, meaning no need for compliance plate either

Thank you for the offer and sounds like a good car, but I prefer no stripes and silver wheels.

May be a bit too modified for what I’m after. Could create issues when importing but send me some more info if you can

With 8k miles I’m sure it’s way out of my budget range so I definitely couldn’t make an offer that can’t be refused lol

thanks for letting me know about it though

I have a 1993 Viper, it is the carryover or antenna car as they are called. I bought it from the original owner about 4 years ago. The car has never been raced, never been in the rain, always kept in climate controlled environment and has never had the side windows or top used on it. It has 14,800 miles on it, has original tires, wheels and radio in it. It is original paint, red with grey interior, it does have white GTS striping package on it that the original owner had but on it by a member of team Viper. Because he was one of the original Viper owners, he said the package was offered to him in the mail and that he like it and had it installed. It was properly done and actually looks well on the car. I dinged it a little when I bought it and was going to take them off, but both my wife and I like it and do not want to change the originality of the car. If interested, you can contact me, if not, happy hunting. Can send pictures. Will take 30k for the car.

I have an early 1993 with no antenna. Senior storekeeper I believe you have a 1992. Which is very rare and I believe worth more than what you are asking. The antenna was deleted in 93.

Either our cars were built in 92 as a 93, or in early 93.
Mine has an antenna as well.

My car with the antenna is not a 92 model, it is a 1993. In 1993 the vehicles made had the rear mounted antenna, same as the 1992, also you get to the battery through the trunk instead of being behind the rear left wheel. The 1993 cars like this are called the carryover or antenna cars. Estimates are that they made about 200 to 300 of these cars in 1993, then took the antenna off for the rest of the production run that year.

My Car is a 93 with no antenna and the battery accessible behind the left rear wheel.
As Seniorstore keeper says the 93 had the antenna till they depleted stocks and changed.
ViperRed VIN number VIN: 1B3BR65E0PV200316 would probably be one of the last antenna cars.
My VIN is 1B3CR65E1PV200944.
If you notice my VIN number has the 4th digit as a C and not the normal B this is because the restraint system had the retractable belts coming from the waterfall like the Gen 2 cars as mine was an export car (Canada) and has a 320kph speedo not the normal 180 mph.
My build number is close to the end of the 93 production year as they only built 1043
Mine also has factory AC
