I think maybe this Mohammed (or someone like him)has resurfaced again.

Here is a another listing on eBay that is very suspicious...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=33742&item=2441721151
Description states:
"Brand new set of four Dodge Viper Wheels. These things are still in the box, only one box has been open, and that was so I can take a picture. These are straight from DaimlerChrysler. These are not a knockoff. Please mail me with any questions in:[email protected] Thanks..." :ooo:

I PM'd this person, asking:
"Which Viper wheels are these?
Do you have a picture to email me?"

And I received this email in reply:
"Tires are BRAND NEW Michelin Pilot Sports in sizes 275-35zr18 front and 335-30zr18 rear...
And sorry but i don't have other pics with these wheels...i have a pics with the tires if you are intereted
about the shipping..i will shipp from UK London and i will support the shipping cost to UPS ...you must pay only the fees to money order when send the payment..
thanks!"

=========

Someone with an eBAY ID of "ViperGuy97" has already bid on this auction and is committed at $1350 (no reseve price set).

BUYER BEWARE!!! I hope that these scammers get caught!!!

Probably a shill bid. Neither of them have a transaction history. This scammer is not new to the game surely.

Thanks for the heads up.

EVERY WEEK I get at least 1 call from someone who wants to trade-in SOMETHING they got on E-bay that did not fit as promised or is not-as-advertised, or is damaged, and they want to pay a bit more and get better.

Often, they are annoyed that I want trade EVEN for fitting parts! Several times a year I hear about total burners....got crap, or got nothing but scammed.

Luckily, this fellow saw this post (contacted me) and then would not send payment via WU. He tried to get the seller to do escrow, he wouldn't. He tried to get the seller to have the items shipped COD, he wouldn't. He tried to get the seller to tell him where the wheels were (in FL), and he would have a person with money in hand pick them up...... silence.

My vote is this was our fraudulent friend..

This guy is well known on Ebay, he contacts you after you bid on things and he even copies EXACTLY the same description and offers a good deal....I got one of his e-mails and smelled a "RAT" immediately, turned it into Ebay they are chasing him, problem is, not too much they can really do....

lots of people do the "i have the same item for less" scam on ebayers. the tell-tale is that they always require western union. the scam originates in romania and has spread across most of eastern europe. supposedly there is a way to claim funds from western union _and_ protect your identity...

never ever send anything unless you have the funds in your account (check cleared, transfer complete, etc.)

DO NOT E-MAIL HIM!!! That would ***** him for sure and I do believe Western Union and others would like to track this one down. There are others who got this same exact message and are "following through" (short of sending any money) to see what information they can get to nail him. Other nasty-grams or similar will just scare him off and make him harder to track. Just an FYI!

I just had a friend that was scammed this way on Ebay for $2500. (GASP - I know) It was her first Ebay experience and couldn't pass up a deal on BRAND NEW Embroidery Machine. SO she won the auction and paid the guy with the following facts:

- He demanded Western Union payment.
- Payment was wired to Germany
- He was a newly registered Seller within the week
- He had ZERO Feedback
- He had a hotmail account

If only she had asked around first... What got her was he provided her with a UPS tracking number saying it was ready for UPS pickup as soon as he got payment. The tracking number is valid, after 3 weeks still waiting for pickup in Wisconsin....

Maybe your WU guy would like her info as well...Just thought I through another horror story in the mix.....

The scam continues this guy could likely fund another 9-11 attack by now.... got this one today:

"...I was reading your posts on the viper club site. I was scammed on ebay about 6 months ago by a buy selling me rims and tires. He lived in England and I sent the money via Western Union. Western Union wouldn't help. I tried writing to FBI and they never helped and Attorney General didn't help. Do you have any contacts?..."

I am hoping this person will be willing to spend a few hours a week to set up and catch Mohammad.... Next time anyone sees one of his ads on ebay, please email me at [email protected] and I'll put him on the road to catching this fellow. Several have tried the FBI route, and they seem USELESS. I hope to make WU get off their BEHINDS....

Any lawyers out there that would like to file a class action suite against WU? They always try to say that it is the FBI's fault, but they are the ones making money off this scam, not the FBI... It is my humble opinion that THEY need to take the lead in catching this person. Anyone lawyers want to help kick start them??

I believe he is trying to sell more than just wheels and hard tops. I had an exact encounter about 3-4 weeks ago just like those described, except it was for a 2001 Yellow Viper GTS with black stripes on ebay. I was told the Viper was in California with his brother and that he was in Italy. He told me to send him $2,500 US Funds via Western Union so that he could see if i was serious and that i could pay the rest upon picking up. I told him that i would have the vehicle checked out before any funds were sent and that i would pay cash for the vehicle upon inspection. He told me that he woudln't permit anyone to checkout the vehicle with him not being in the Country and still demanded for me to send the money Western Union. I hope he is caught soon.

This may be of interest. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2460415894&category=32094

Has negative feedback from someone who feels this is a scam and the shipping and payment details look the same as some of the above ebay items. I emailed him when I saw this kit two months ago on ebay and told him to drop off the kit at our shop in Gloucester and I would have our UK manager pay him cash then and never heard a word back.
