My '99 ACR weighs 3,375 lbs. That is with about half a tank of fuel; A/C and one CD & radio. Maybe my one CD is really HEAVY man.

I weighed in at a VERY active scale, and came in at 3280.

I made him zero the scale, and reweigh.

3300 was the verdict. Scale calibrated +-20 lbs.

My ACR (with a/c and stereo) weighed in at precisely 3380, also with 1/2 tank of fuel. I do not believe 3300# is correct!

I put mine on the scale at a NHRA track. Very accurate scales. It came in at 3270 with the spare and a little under half a tank. But, I have a lighter custom exhaust system and no cats. The cats alone weight in at 21 pounds each. I have trapped 123 twice at the track thanks to the loss of weight and cats.

Okay, I admit it.. I filled my tires with helium.

I see a lot of weights being mentioned here, but what I DON'T see are any weight slips posted from registered public scales.

The registration number is on that slip above. The phone number is too. You COULD call them if you ever wanted to. These guys are not race tracks. They have to calibrate their scale and get a state seal on them. There was a semi truck being weighed on the scale right after me. It's important for safety reasons that the scale be accurate.

I'm quite satisfied that this scale's numbers are correct.

If anyone has some hard proof that it isn't please post.

Food for thought--one gallon of gas weighs 6.1 pounds. A full tank of gas (17 gallons with overfill) comes in at 103.7 pounds.

That leaves considerable room for error.

However my wife verified along with me that the needle on my tank was straight up 1/2.

See ya!

Thanks for the interesting post. I'm not sure why there's so much skepticism, as the figure sounds very realistic to me. Considering the variance for fuel and numerous other components, you can expect a weight differential of up to 200 pounds between similar makes of vehicle.

Since you're a Ferrari fan, the 360 Modena versus the 360 Challenge goes to a further extreme, where the challenge model sheds nearly 400 pounds!

FUSCUCLA1,
I believe gas weighs about 6lb/gallon. Water is 8lb and gas is lighter than water. I'm pretty sure I saw 6lb/gal in print somewhere.

+100lbs for Corsa 3" seems high although I am sure it weighs more than the stock exhaust. I forgot to weigh mine before putting it on, but I would guess maybe +50lbs. Does anyone know the real weight difference?

Joe--don't forget about your exhaust, headers, and hi-flows. Those are different pieces, and may weigh more.
