Now that winter is approaching, I've got my top up while driving. When car is cold, I hear a vibration in first and 2nd gear at 2k rpms. It goes away completely when car is warm. New diff fluid, car is a 2004 with 2k miles. Its kinda hard to explain, but it feels like gear rattle. Again diff fluid is new with additive.

Still searching this myself, before i bring it to Roanoke Dodge in March. Engaging the clutch does stop the noise, happens with car on lift with no load as well. Looks like a spring drive and leave it with John Gastman, who seems like a very nice guy. Ive spoke to him a couple of times, and he reassures they will fix the car. Worth a 2 hour drive to get it there. Car under warranty and 2k miles.
Tried the diff and trans fluid swap, to no avail. Oh well

Definately not NGR. This is hard to nail down, but it sounds like its coming from the front of the car. When the car gets warm the noise almost completely dissapears. Kinda crazy, never heard it with the top down, but there's something sounding wrong. They will probably put a scope on it.

what type of trans fluid do you have?

usually you get all types of problems in the transmission (hard shift, grinding) possible vibration because its too the fluid is too cold.

might be wrong so dont quote me on that.

Ive tried the oem stuff with friction modifier. And Amsoil with there friction modifier. Both with the same results. Now i dont have but maybe 10 miles with the new stuff in there, but i cant see where this would make a difference. If it was the fluid i would think the sound would be gone almost immediately. I continue to put on lift and hoping the fluid works its way in, but i get the same annoying sound everytime, until the car is warm.
This kinda ***** considering the car is basically brand new. But warranty will cover it. 2004 with 2000 miles. Just got the car last June so haven't had much time to enjoy it yet, and surely dont need this.

When the cooling module goes bad, the fan breaks causing a noise and vibration. With the engine cold turn the A/C on and see if you get a vibration. You can also make a visual inspection. Try the search button, should be some info.
