I am trying to strip the paint from a Gen 3 Dash bezel. I was able to do it easily on my Gen 1 with Easy Off Oven Cleaner. So, my first try was the Easy Off... Didn't do a thing. I hate the idea of sanding it... I know many of you have painted your dash--any ideas??? Thanks. :)

Well what is your objective?

If your just looking to repaint it a differant color, just sand it. Think of it this way ,the factory paint/coating on is already bonded to the plastic, which is the hardest to get A/M paint to stick to, so use that as like a primer, sand it down and then apply your top coat.

I am looking to paint the same pieces GTS Blue to match the exterior of my SRT-10..... Everything I have read folks who have done this have just sanded the finish and painted the new on....... Post pix when done....I am contemplating buying replacement pieces and painting those in case I don't like it or want to change back at a later date....

Stripping dash Gen 3 (Easy Off won't work)

Well, that whole procedure sucked! I just used 320 grit and wet sanded and finished with 400. It seemed to take forever--mostly done... the body shop can do the finishing touches before painting.
