Yep, but with the power most of us are making we'll need a private rental. One pass in the high 10s or low 11s without a roll cage and we'll be booted on a Tuesday night.
Exactly. Last summer we rented the track all to ourselves. It was $150/car, but we made unlimited passes for 6 hours.
Yes, you'll get a stearn warning at the tech inspection that any passes below 11.99 you get tossed w/out a bar. You can practice you launches and shift into 2nd then be on the brakes the rest of the way. You'll have v-6 mustangs saying they beat you all night long
Tim- I don't see us (the club) getting the Gateway IR rental done anymore this year. Last year we had to plan it out almost 4 months in advance with finding an open date, track staff, insurance details and the up front cost is substantial. I'll be all over it next year. In the meantime, we always have the Tuesdays and maybe we could piggyback onto another clubs' event at Gateway. I'll start looking to see what's available.
