Picked up a part for my GenII, and I'm shortly going to get another viper.. A SRT10 (it's grown on me)...
In the Local Dodge Dealership, they had a 2004 Black SRT10!!! I was thinking of buying it....! You know, quickly going over how much to put down..10k, 20k, 50k, 60k... then finance the rest.. One of the salesman recognized me and asked me if I still have my 98... ;)

I asked him how much for "my" car. He said 85,000 and that's a deal cuz it's worth 89,500. Oh well, and here I was thinking I found JUST the car I wanted almost next door to me.. :(
85k what are ppl thinking???

Gerald, why buy new and take that HUGE kick in the pocket?

There's a local Viper Owner that has a Black SRT10, low miles, lowered with HRE wheels, that you can pick up for low 60s. He posts here as Brian E.

Absolutely!!!! The dealer that wants $85k for a 04 is smoking crack. I purchase my brand new 05' Copperhead for $80K!!!!! Before that purchase, i was looking at some used 04's and they were in the high 60's to low 70's depending on mileage....... Do some shopping around, it will save you thousands, or, tell the salemen that you found viper at another dealer for the low 70's. More often then not, they will budge... :2tu: :2tu:

If you are selling a house do you reference the lowest prices that houses in the region sold for (and thus minimize your houses value) or do you reflect the high or average? To brag about the lowest lessens your own cars value. That is why Dan indicated that this site is its own worst enemy. And he is correct it is.

It is not hiding it. Have you or other been posting the highs to go with the lows. Of course not. Why?

My point is, you or Dan or anyone is going to buy a car for the best price you can buy it at. I refuse to believe otherwise if you are somewhat intelligent which I'm sure you are. This website is not the reason the prices of Vipers are what they are. I shopped vigorously for the right car and it was everywhere but here. An 04 could be found for 64k including mambas with low mileage or new. IMO the problem here is people buy these car on second mortgages or refi and don't make the income to accommodate the lifestyle of driving this kind of vehicle. They drive it for a year, get into financial trouble and bail at whatever the cost! This website is fanastic but I refuse to believe that it is it's own worst enemy just for that reason. If your friend is looking for a car and he says "hey Dan, I found his car for 85k, is it a good deal?" And you know someone else is selling it for less you aren't going to tell him about it? This is what this site is supposed to be about, helping other fellow viper or future viper owners. Just my opinion and sorry if we see things differently.

Then why in the world did you offer it up in a Thread a couple weeks ago, where someone was looking for a $65k SRT10?

Geez, you Indiana People! :p

Casey, us hoosiers have to stick together. :D
The post you were refering to tells the nice man to make me an offer I cant refuse. Trust me I would refuse a mid 60s offer.
To match what the dealer is giving me on trade, because of the Indiana sales tax I would be saving by trading it in, I need mid 70s to break even. :2tu:
