It is Tuesday morning and it is the first time that I am going to bring in the Viper for service since I got it. Now I have about 4,500 miles and I feel it needed it since I had a few problems :( . I brought the car in at 7:30 am and wanted to get a rental to go back to school. They told me that I would be getting one. Everything was going well :smirk: . They said they did not have any rentals there so they would have to call Enterprise. They called and then about 5 minutes later the representative was there. Great so I was like OK almost over. She takes me to their office which is about 5 minutes away. She then starts to enter my information and sees my birth date. She asks, "How old are you?" I kindly respond, "18." She then tells me that they cannot rent the car to me because of my age. I thought this would happen so she takes me back to the dealer. Once at the dealer I called my Mom but she was busy. I had to take the Viper back and drive back home (Keep in mind that each way is about 40 miles away from my house). Once I get home I have my mother follow me back to the dealer since I would be using her car and she would use the rental since she is the only one able to drive it. We arrive at the dealer and they once again call Enterprise. The representee arrives in about 15 minutes and takes my mother to the office. About 30 minutes later my Mom comes back angry. I asked what happened and then she tells me that they charged her for the rental. I then go into the dealership and they tell me my warranty does not cover a rental. This is the first time I have ever heard of such a thing. The car was brand new. They told me there was some extra care warranty necessary. This had never happened before with BMW or Mercedes. So after talking to the dealership we went back to Enterprise and returned the rental since we had no use for it. To make a long story short it took me 4 hours and 120 miles to get nothing  . What a pain this was, especially because I was involved in a presentation in front of the whole school and I missed it because of this  .

What a difference. I scheduled (called in advance so they could set things up) service appointment. Mentioned that I may nor be able to arrice before 6:00 pm when the rental portion of the dealership closes for the day. And like magic Rod Harris, service manager at Dick Scott Dodge in Plymouth Michigan has a car ready and waiting for my arrival. Cleaned, gassed and only needing my signature.

I would say in the future to call ahead - it may work wonders.

Dear Ron:

The funny thing is that I did call ahead for this appointment but they did not tell me that I would be getting a rental from Enterprise.

My dealer still gives me a loaner from the demo fleet. I bought my current car from them in 1998! I knew I liked them.
