If you're talking about rear diffusers (as pictured above) there are many different types.....search this forum for some DIY kits produced by members.

Yep...that's what I was talking about. I totally forgot what they were called. Ya, I'd love a do it yourself job (or descantly priced ones). Was hard to search without knowing the name.

Thanks

I have a DIY on mine at VA. Some take the Gen 3 blade and scab it on, or there are others that stick on one way or another. Autoform also makes a few rear diffusers. The most functional ones extend past the rear bumper covers sans the stick on ones are not as effective as fuller sized units like mine or Autoform's.

one more question...is there a purpose to them? or just look cool?

They definitely improve the areo, but that only happens at higher speeds, at 60 mph, they're pretty much just weight. Generally speaking, the longer they extend out the back the more controlled the exiting air is, but they look goofy (pic below). Dave's is a good blend of functional and good-looking. For the street don't go all German-Touring-Car-Series on us :)

Dave, Have you noticed a decrease in dust and dirt collection on the rear bumper and fascia since you installed the rear diffusers?

Just my personal taste, but I like KNG SNAKES's version better than the factory version.

THERE IS NO GEN 2 FACTORY VERSION.

Your choices once again are...

DIY of anything you want. Mine is DIY.
Autoform - they have 2 styles.
Stick-on like the SRT blades or the kng blades that just attach to the urethane bumper cover.

Like has been pointed out numerous times, the effectiveness is going to be related to the extension of the upper flat plane past the bumper cover. The stick-on blades of course do not alter that property so they will have reduced effectiveness over a more complete design. Some do not like the look of that and opt for just the stick-on blades. More poser than function at that level, but we all do poser to a degree. Well, except for Chuck :D
