What brake pads for (LOW DUST) street use?

I've searched.
I'm a detail freak and the factory brake pad dust is horrible. I don't track the car and my main concern is low dust.

Can you guys offer up some good replacement suggestions? Constantly wiping down my wheels.

I used EPC greens. I think I have a used set with low miles somehere in the garage. I have SRT10 brakes now so all my old pads are useless.

Used pads aren't worth anything typically but maybe we can work something out if you want them.

Carquest sells a ceramic set that I used on my RT10 that were fantastic for low dust. Not all that expensive either if I recall correctly.

Porterfield R4S is VERY clean, but I took them back off because they are not very interested in stopping the car. I'd like to hear honest opinions about stopping power of the other low-dust suggestions compared to stock Brembo pads.

I'm running the Hawk HPC ceramics and LOVE them! Completely quiet and almost NO dust. The dust they do produce is a very light gray, so it doesn't show up very bad anyway. They may not be the best for track applications, but for spirited driving (running the Dragon, mountain roads, etc) they work just fine.
I originally bought a set of EBC reds and they put out a lot of dust and squeeled so bad it was embarrassing to drive the car. I tried seating them a few different ways (removing and scuffing them and the rotors each time), but they just wouldn't shut up. I actually ended up giving them to another member here for free because he liked them.

I put EBC greens on mine and however much less dust than stock, I still get a resonable amount of dust. I will try something differenct next time. Stopping power seems about same as stock pads.

There are two different "greens" old compound and the new compound from what I remember.

I hadused EBC's for years on my cars but have since switched when EBC changed the compound of their pads. I now use Hawk HPS or Ceramic pads...great PAD and minimal dust.

On my daily driver I can change the fronts in 5 minutes and it takes forever on the backs as they have to screw in, and even with a special tool it takes a significant amount of time and frustration. Thanks for any information.

I can swap the pads in less than half the time it takes to jack the car up and get the wheel off! Vipers (at least the Gen III) have the easiest pads to swap of any car I've ever owned. I just vice grips or a C-clamp. Put a small piece of wood over the piston on the inside and use a thick towel on the outside of the caliper and compress it in.

Great news. That's exactly what I do on the front of Ford 500. The backs **** and I have been changing brakes for 30+ years and I never want to change the back ones again on that car!

I have yet to find a very low dust pad for this car. I am currently running EBC reds and I am NOT happy with the dust levels. Several threads on this topic already.

Wagner Ceramic MX968 $41 from Advance Auto. After EBC and Hawk pads tore up my 2 piece rotors. I had them turned and went with the Wagners. No dust and the same braking.

I just remembered I got a $20 rebate for each set plus my cost there was $31 so I ended up spending $22 for my pads.

If you mean the rear piston as it is pushed out by the emergency/parking brake the answer is no special tool needed. There are two holes in the piston: simply open a set of needle nose so the tips fit into those holes and screw it back in. Very simple.

I never quite understand this debate. Do you want to stop in a high performance car or not? Forget about the dust and go for stopping power AND buy and carry a california duster that you only use on the wheels. I look at the dust on my wheels with a sense of pride after a drive. GTS Bruce

You are right, it takes some heat before these pads start to work well.
R4's are a good track pad.

I believe the new EBC Reds are the old EBC greens. Thats what I run, good for track days, good for street driving.

You must use care with brake pads. Low dust / ceramic pads simply dust in grey so you don't see it as much. Some of these compounds actually cause you to lose braking ability. Almost as bad they will eat up your rotors. So what looks more crappy ? Black wheels or gouged up rotors ?

I stick with the stock Brembo's [ on my Gen III ] which do dust but don't eat my rotors and do stop. I have some really good brushes to make cleaning the wheels easy and I have the wheels coated inside and out with Jorgans Mag Shag which makes that stuff almost just wash off.

If it's that big a deal get some painted wheels that are dark colored on the inside.
