Okay, here is the story. I have a 2005 SRT, Paxton running about 8lbs boost.
I ordered spark plugs from Sean Roe and they sent me a set of Bosch 'Super Plus' FR8DC plugs. They came gapped at .32, but they were blowing out, so I closed the gap down to .28 and they ran much better. I normally run the street track, but took the car out to the drag races last night. After my third pass, I noticed the car was running really rough.
I pulled the 5 right side plugs out today to see if any were fouled. Two of the plugs were black, and then on closer inspection I noticed that the GAP on both of those plugs was basically zero. The arm isn't quite touching the electrode, but I don't own a feeler gauge thin enough to fit in there.
What can cause this to happen?
The only thing different about yesterday is that I was running a slightly lower octane (90 instead of 91) and I had a bottle of Octane boost in the tank.
Thanks
G
