What can you do to help? - Please Give Blood -

The American Red Cross has declared a state of emergency. We will need to replenish the US's safe blood supply. You can try to call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (tried - very hard to get through) or stay tuned to your local news to see where you can donate. Its a small thing you can do to try to help those affected by this tragedy.

Any other suggestions for helping would be appreciated.

I've never given blood in my life. I'm a bit needle phobic. But I have the hot ticket in blood, O-, and I'm signing up. Gotta do SOMETHING!

I thought O+ was the hot ticket, an O+ could donate blood to a peson with any type. but i think O- can take any blood type.

O+ gives to all
O- takes/excepts from all

i might be mistaken though.

Type O is universal donor. Rh factor is the +/- thing - Red Cross says it needs ALL TYPE O. Do not delay - donate today.

For what it's worth, "We" have contacted our local Red Cross, they are doing a blood drive in our area Thursday noon to 6. Everyone of my employees will be given the afternoon off to donate blood. All have agreed willingly and actually don't want to wait that long.

everyone should donate blood, no matter what you have. its not gonna kill you and they even give you a cookie!

Seriously though, type O is the best blood. +/- it doesnt matter.

when i went in to donate this afternoon. i was asked what donor club i belonged to: i started the "Americans Against Terrorists " donation club.
