What could goo this be?

After getting home I pulled the Viper up on the QuikLift and found what appeared to be greasy goo dripping out of the balljoint zerk fittings. Is this that same goo that is at the end of a grease cartridge?

It was that way on both sides and the inside of the wheels was covered with the same but dust and pollen had gotten on it to form a brownish gray coating entirely covering the inside of both front wheels.

Had the same greasy covering on the rear wheels, and I thought from the Z06 forums about folks having rear halfshaft problems and sling grease all around the inside of the rear wheels, but I couldn't find any obvious source of the greasy "leak"

Today I am going to pull all of the wheels and de-grease them and see if i can see where it is coming from. Does the rear suspension have greasable fittings on the control arms? I am thinking it is the same as the front, that liquidee grease goo leaking out of the fitting or boot.
Thanks for any thoughts. Oh to be a Viper owner.......
Cheers

The only way grease could get on the inside of all four wheels, would be that someone greasing the car put it there. I don't see how properly applied grease would get out of any of the greasable components on all four.

Are you sure that it isn't brake fluid? It would have an alcohol like smell and when it dried up it could leave a thicker residue.
It isn't likely that all the brakes would leak at the same time but if the brakes leak, it will get on the wheels.

The goo that is at the end of a grease cartridge is grease.

Did you have it serviced? Oil change?

Maybe they overloaded the balljoints, you're only supposed to squeeze a little in, until they start to swell. It would ooze out as you drive it.

I was thinking that it was "old" or liquified grease (due to age, heat, wrong stuff etc).

Brake fluid is full, and this "**** isn't fresh because as I said in my first post it looks like it leaked on the wheels, spun around and coated the entire inside of the wheels and then preceeded to collect dust like from a dusty or dirt road which then made the stuff like a dirty greasy film. It is the same consistency and thickness on all fours.

On the zerks on the front end there is a redish "fluid" NOT the consistency of grease oozing out and it had dripped on the lower "a" arm.

I'll clean the wheels, and when I get it state inspected, I getthe Viper tech to look and definately re-grease all suspension points.
Thanks
