Yup - that price be good...

In case you want to try what I did - see what you think... I found about 20 2002/RT's with a little work - all online... I decided that I would take the "sales" out of salesman. So, I simply sent emails to each and every one of the dealers - kept talking to them identifying that I didn't care about shipping - therefore focused just on price.

Each and every one of them said things like, "call me - we can talk". To each of them I declined - and told them I only dealt online... Believe it or not - I was able to make up numbers and tell the dealers I wanted that someone else was lower - and that unless they would come into my range - I'd pursue the others... It worked!

I don't normally do this - but when they can't see you or use any lame excuses on you, etc... - they bend... Long story short - I negotiated, sent a $5k deposit, and then flew down to the dealer with a check. Took no more than 15 minutes in the dealership - and I drove it straight off the showroom floor. They did try to throw in some extras - but I again declined and got my 2002 R/10 with 4.2 miles on it for a great price...

The web rules!

Long story short - I picked it up for $68,200... And then I learned about gas guzzling and luxury taxes - not to mention the plates...!

Strangely enough - I bought my house in Minneapolis 3 years ago the same way... Not that I am afraid of a salesperson (I have 13 in the company) - but I like them to be on my turf - not theirs... Point - click - finagle - buy - pickup.

Glen, seriously you may want to delete your IRS stuff. There are agents who DO read this board, believe me. Not a comment on what you are doing but just a thought.
