Chrysler celebrated its 1997 FIA GT2 championship and the first-ever class win by a production American car at the 1998 24 Hours of Le Mans, with a limited edition of 100 road-going versions of the GTS-R, one of which is offered here in this extremely low-mileage and highly original one-owner example driven just 615 careful miles. Sold new at Nelson Auto Group in Marysville, Ohio, and equipped with power steering, locks and windows, air conditioning and an AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo, the GTS-R certainly looks the part, packaged in the official American racing colors of white and blue, recalling Briggs Cunningham’s legendary Le Mans racers. Unlike many commemorative models, the GTS-R boasts significant performance upgrades, including the same aerodynamic pieces as the original GTS-R, notably the front splitter and winglets and the towering rear spoiler. Less showy but just as important is the single small American flag above the phrase, “FIA GT2 Champion” just behind the driver’s-side window. The Viper GTS-R is also fitted with exclusive rolling stock comprising 18-inch silver-painted web-style alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot SX P275/35ZR-18 front and P335/30ZR-18 rear tires. The interior is attractively finished in black leather with prominent blue accents and black embroidery on the seat backs, and fitted with red 5-point safety harnesses bearing the Team Oreca logo and still retaining the factory plastic bubble wrap. There is also a serialized GTS-R metal plaque on the console engraved with the car’s production number, in this case 93/100. The GTS-R’s V-10 powerplant was also tweaked, using a revised air box with low-restriction K&N filters and straightened intake tubes to raise horsepower from 450 to 460 at 5,200 RPM, with a commensurate torque increase to 500 lb-ft at 3,600 RPM. Garage-kept since new and lovingly preserved, this 1998 GTS-R is an impeccable example of the exclusive limited-edition Viper that commemorates a peak era in Chrysler’s racing history.

You will also notice on the one with the owner information, the first 15 characters of the VIN is redacted, the other one is not. Does help when researching a Viper is part of you plan. If an Owner lets me know a Viper has been sold, I just un redact the VIN.

I have a large number of pictures, I\at this point I have not added very may as I need to resize them, space may not be precious, however, page load times are important and wen viewing on a phone, very large photo's kill a thread.

I know there's the question of why just not post it here. It would drive people crazy to come to the site and see 200 new threads, all being Viper vehicle information. This way, only those interested are exposed to 10's to 100's of new posts.
