Since my last post, I received several e-mails questioning why we don't go with more than 6 lbs. boost. The answer is very simple: Because we don't want to. It's the frequently discussed laws of physics. After certain thresholds, your car will not be able to get any traction. Anything above this threshold I would call wasted horsepower (power that can be planted to the pavement at 'reasonable' speeds). Most of our customers (over 95%) use their cars on the street and occassional road courses, autocrosses, etc.. Few (very few) bring it to the dragstrip. Sounds like other areas of the US have a totally different customer distribution that primarily goes to the strip. On the street it is not uncommon for a car with less horsepower to accelerate faster 0-60 or 0-100 than a car with a ton of horsepower because of traction.
As I stated before, with only 6lbs boost, the engine is not being pushed nearly as hard as 10-12lbs boost. We do not need an intercooler, heat issues will not become present, and the installation is cleaner and more simple with less points of potential failure.
Longevity, reliability, and drivability have always been our primary objectives for any package we build.
Thanks for your questions.
