I totally agree with what he said about the Viper. It's a shame to buy one of these cars and not drive it. That's what it's all about.
A Corvette of '75 or so made it's way across the auction block last year. 75 miles or so, plastic dealer wrap still on, Pace Car decals and all. Sold for 25 or 30. The announcers did the math and even if insurance and storage cost nothing, the guy only stayed even with inflation. (of course that was still 10x the money, but only half the money of a current corvette)
Was that the 140hp model or the high performance 160hp version?
With C3 Vettes the 1974-1977 cars are least desirable... The 1978-1982s had some styling improvements that make them more sought after but most of them have less than 185hp and 85mph speedometers.
