Tomorrow I'm going to a Corvette Challenge to see what my stock snake can do. What RPM is the best to launch 437RWHP Viper on stock tires?
Thanks.

I always launch very low ~2500. Closer to 2300 now that I have 3:55 rear. Do some practice launches tonight if you can.

Also, I'd only take about 5-7 psi out of the stock tires. I've tried with more out with only minimal improvement in 60' times. One last bit of advice, I used to miss 3rd gear a lot. Tuck your right elbow in towards your body a little before shifting from 2nd to 3rd. It'll go straight in. Good luck and let us know how you do.

I'd go even lower and feather it out, seems that off idle launches and then laying into it are the only way I can get under a 2.0 60 foot time. Come out andy higher and I'm toast, 2.2, 2.3, ,ugh.......

I ****...I was only able to run 12.6 at 115 with my best 60' 2.11 I tried it at 3K and 2.5K both times spinning a lot. I also missed 3rd once so my other run was 12.7 There was 4 Vipers and one of them run 12.0 -12.2 with the same mods as me. There was also one SRT that run 13.0 at 105 LOL

At least you got out there and ran!
I'm eager to take my Viper to the track to try it out.
The biggest difference in times from what I've seen is practice, and more practice to get the best times.

Yeah, you should be in the low low 12 range. It just takes a little practice. Many people don't know that a lot of time can be shed by shifting faster. It's a little harder on the car, but it might be just what the doctor ordered to squeeze out that extra couple of tenths. Also, you might try running with your gas tank almost empty, ditching your spare, putting a lot of pressure in your front tires, making sure you don't let off until well through the lights, and slipping the clutch a little off the line. A few tricks I've learned, hope that helps next time.

Last time I was at the strip, I noticed some C5 and Mustang guys fighting (not literally) over ice bags to put on their intakes. Think that has any real effect? I didn't think so when they had to wait in line for 10 minutes to re stage, but I guess it depends on how hot they were before the ice. Anyone tried it with results?

Every little bit helps! It cools the intake down giving you a cooler charge of air. It might be worth a tenth, who knows?
