Now that quite a few of you are lucky enough to have taken delivery of your SRT, what are some of the comments you are getting from the public about the car?
Do they like it? What are their likes/dislikes?
Do they prefer the gen 1 & 2 design over the SRT?

I've received nothing but good comments since I've had mine. Some have said it's the best looking Viper yet. Many have said it looks much better in person than in the photos. Many of our local members have said they wished they were in a position to purchase one. Some that ordered one with the thought they would sell it are now thinking maybe they will keep theirs when they arrive.

I don't think the people I pass on the road even know what it is yet. Since it's the only one on the road around our area, or at least it was. I'll be without the SRT-10 for a few weeks. I'll have to settle for driving the 2000 GTS.

I think the best comment I have gotten from a customer is about how the new SRT-10 has increased his business. He mentioned
that folks have been ripping the necks around just to get a look . He jokingly told me that he was sure neck and
spinal adjustments had gone up in his area ever since he got his new Snake ----- yep, he is a Chiropractor.

Perhaps it is because I am in the more conservative Midwest, but the vast majority say they like the SRT MUCH more than my GTS. Personally, I like the flash of the GTS (stripes and everything), yet everyone is telling me they prefer the looks of the SRT for some reason. Of course, Jerry (with his flawless red GTS) has told me otherwise, but no surprise there. ;)

Perhaps because it is less "testosterone-laden" than a striped coupe, it really seems to impress the women especially. Granted, the true diehard Viper ladies (Nadine, Laura, & Maureen) will probably disagree, but for some reason the "casual" passerby is really struck by the looks of this car. I know that even my son's friends (high schoolers) all say they like the new one better - which was the biggest shock of all. Perhaps it was because they were just getting overexposed to the GTS, as I drove it a lot. We shall see!

Chris,
GREAT to hear that!! I can't wait to see one of these live. Do you get differing opinions with the top up/down?

It's like when I first got the 97. We've had photographs taken of us, people following us home, honking, screaming, I even had a carful of women hit on me because of it, and I've only had it 3 weeks.

The woman asks everyone which one they like best, the 97 or the 03 (whenever strangers come up), and I'd say about 90% like the new one better, 100% of women we have polled in the survey like the new one over the old.

Man I love this car!

I can't tell you what others have said on the road as this good ol Michigan weather has only allowed me to drive my car from the trailer to my garage (about 70 feet!) I can tell you that my first reaction to the new body style wasn't very positive. Since picking it up at the factory (awesome tour) I have grown to appreciate the new design. As some have said, it grows on you in person. I have four Vipers now (93 RT-10, 96GTS, 98GT2, 03SRT-10)and it looks really good in the snake pit along side the others. I really like it in all respects, can't wait to get on the road though.

Snakebitedave,
Which is your favorite of all? My only concern with the SRT is body style, as I am a HUGE fan of the GTS.

What are your thoughts in person??? Also, how do the interior's compare in your opinion?

commoditybroker,
I too like the GTS body style, just had to have one of the first in 96. I'm not a big fan of convertibles and at first wished the SRT was a coupe. However, I must say the SRT is growing on me and is becoming my favorite. I think it looks best with the top up. And who can argue with the stats? I still like the direct rear view of the 93 red RT10, as if you were following it. The GTS's look great from an upper, side rear view. The SRT looks great from many angles. Don't get me wrong, all of them are awesome, I think DC has done a fine job from day one. The SRT's interior is very nicely done. I like the new gauge layout, remote mirrors, deadpedal, and newly styled seats to name a few features. The push button starter is a great conversation piece. I wasn't sure I wanted the SRT when I saw it for the first time (in pictures) but am very delighted to have made the decision to get one. I hope the coupe is a couple of years off so I can figure out where to put it!!

:D Thanks for the reply! I am glad to hear that the SRT's styling rivals its other brethren. All of Chris's pictures have solidified my love for the new Viper, and I am excitedly awaiting my purchase!
