What weight of mobil 1 should I be using?

I have heard that Royal Purple synthetic is the best. However, it's more expensive than Mobil 1. Mobil 1 has also had a great record over time. I use Mobil 1.

The GTS-Rs racers used Mobil 1 at the 24 hours of Le Mans. That's endurance racing and good enough for me.

For modest usage in temperate weather, Mobil 1 10W30 should be fine, and it matches the "factory fill" of later Vipers
(noting that your year may have come with nonsynthetic oil initially...at least, by my poor memory).

For wider swings of temp and/or track usage, one may choose other weights. Take care NOT to presme that racing blends offer proper additives for year round usage and protection.

I use Mobil Delvac 1 5W40 in my 1999 GTS. I also use this oil in my turbo diesel Hummer. It is an oil engineered for diesels and contains more additives for stability. These additives make for a very stable gasoline engine oil, providing superior protection IMHO.

I've used Royal Purple in all my cars ever since I tried it out one day and noticed a smoother idle. You can get it from JC Whitney for $5.49 a quart.
