Re: What\'s happen with the Racelogic Traction Control system?

I believe I was the first to install the traction control in a SRT, that’s been several months now. Love it. Its works great, very happy that I installed it. Some observations. It kicks in most often in the morning or in the evening (cold tires). I have 15K miles on the car and about 2K miles on the track, so I am very comfortable with the car. I have a good feel for what it takes to break the back end lose and I don’t get surprised anymore (like I did when the car was new).

Interestingly, the TC will kick in under hard acceleration in 3rd gear 4K-5K rpm. I don’t notice the tire spin with TC turned off. The only way I know the backend is breaking lose is because the TC kicks in. That means that it is happening and I never knew it (scary). This is a supercharged car so these observations only apply to SC cars, consequently I highly recommend traction control for SC cars.

When I am on the track it rarely if ever kicks in. I will attribute that to much smoother driving on my part. I am much sloppier street driving than on the track. I am tuned in, on the track and it is easy to get tuned off casual driving on the street. So it benefits me most zipping around town. It is well worth the $1K.

I wonder how much installation will be. I can't do it myself, but am very interested in it. My wife, who isn't the best driver, LOVES to drive my viper, and having TC would ease my stress big time when she takes the snake out by herself.

Yeah I'm wondering as well about how much the install for traction control is! I would like to get it on my Viper!

Re: What\'s happen with the Racelogic Traction Control system?

I installed one on a non-ABS car (mine) and it was cake. Install took about 2 hours. In the AutoX, it was quite cool.

The only thing is that I have had some major problems with the TC unit in my supercharged environment. In the N/A set-up, it worked pretty well, but SC, I have had some serious issues. granted, my SC setup is a GenII and it is also a custom set-up (so you mild standard paxton people may be OK), but there is _something_ going on with my TC that made me have to pull it out. I'm working with Matrix to try to resolve it, but that process has been slow...

I have installed the unit on 2 srt's and both customers are extremely pleased. As a matter of fact the first unit is in Ted Dzus's 03 srt, and I can demo the system any time.the last demo ride was my next install.

Maybe I have a bad module then... Perhaps they will take it back.

Re: What\'s happen with the Racelogic Traction Control system?

Problem is related to the injectors cutting out at strange intervals even when the TC is in the off position. under load, it is quite apparent and the car goes lean (per the wideband) and bucks like mad.

Thanks for offering to help!

We will, and Mike at RLTC has offered that today, after you can check some things for us.

Sorry my previous email to you didn't make it--not sure why that happened.

We will get to the bottom of your issue Joseph. You have some very odd things going on, some which we and Racelogic haven't seen before.

Hey Mike,

How many hours do you charge for an install?

Hi Ken,

At this time we don't have a Racelogic Distributor Specialist in VA so Mike at Lee Dodge in NY would be the closest to you.

As well, Nancy Shanno from Woodhouse Viper in NE could also help with a standard install price...

Let us know if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Jeremy
