I can honestly say that I have never heard about that kind of economy
in a Veyron, but hell, if it gets 253mpg and goes 253mph that's both
classy and worth the $1.5m pricetag.
Has anyone seen the video of the Opels getting 113mpg at 140mph? Big
world record news - now what's what I'm talking about.
As for me I never break 55mph in the viper unless the highway has
been clearly marked with another figure and the conditions are clear
and dry enough to sustain those kinds of speeds.

I agree........ That is really quite a modern breakthrough. To be able to achieve 253mpg AND be able to run at 253mph simultaneously. Incredible!

Veryron at top speed will empty the gas tank in 14-15minutes, and tires are only good for some ridiculously low time frame20-24minutes then time for a new set of tires made only for that car(i heard like $17,000 for a set of tires!)
And that would be great to drive on a track like that the long straight is over 5 miles long!

HEY I drive an Opel, someone get me that engine
170 down the front stretch at Michigan International Speedway (Not in one of my cars but was a 2004 srt 10). I also took a ride in same car and hit 175 according to driver.

I have yet to break into triple digit speeds with it. I didn't buy it because it can go fast, although I do tend to get up to the posted speed limit rather quickly sometimes.
So, these things can top 100? Coolness.

Just touched over 200 mph, per speedo, for just a bit, during the Silver State Classic. That was on a slight down hill, and probably with a tail wind, but it was the achievement of a special personal goal for me.
Side windows sucked out of their seals, scaring me 1/2 to death at 160, and side mirror delaminated at 175. Best time of my life.
Car was a 96 GTS with bolt ons, SVS headers, and a 3:54 rear gear. Car ran like the wind.

138mph+/- (stopped looking) on I-275 around Cincinnati OH though Indian racing and spanking a Ford GT Shelby (He started it!). Wish I had someone with a video camera for this one

I did a number of run-ups with the wife watching a DVD in the passenger seat. 100-140, then 100-150, then 100-160, then 100-170 at which point she finally looks up and says " Would you please just hit whatever number you are shooting for! This is starting to get annoying ". You have to love a woman who is OK with you going high triple digits with her in the car, just as long as it doesn't interfer with her movie watching.

the hayabusa is the measuring stick by which all others are judged thats for sure. the busa is one bad bike. i gps'd 178 mph on my nitrous injected honda CBR-929 when the engine blew on me. if the motor didn't let go i had the gearing to go 185 mph. 230 mph in my ford GT is my goal now.

not here in italy...but in Germany Autobahn (Free part-No limits)
My impression when i went at this velocity was not the same of my previous Maserati and last Porsche car:
I want install a good Moton/Eibach suspension before check maximum velocity and review aerodynamic charge.
So ...at the next!

My impression when i went at this velocity was not the same of my previous Maserati and last Porsche car:
- stock set up isn't good for this velocity,not very stable, the car is not on the "rails" but go right/left/right;
- aerodynamic loose (light front)
- stock Viper is more ready as a drugster than as a velocity car;
- it's more difficult drive a Viper than my previous sport car!
I want install a good Moton/Eibach suspension before check maximum velocity and review aerodynamic charge.
So ...at the next!
