Does anyone else have this problem, I'm addicted to my Viper, more spacificly road racing my Viper. This is all I think about and spend my $$$ on. I'm not happy unless I'm going 140 mph into a hairpin. In the last month I've done the following:
OTC
5/12 Spring Mtn. Nevada
5/13 Willow Springs Ca.
5/14 Streets of Willow Ca.
5/15 Buttonwillow Ca.
5/16 Thunderhill Ca.
5/17 Buttonwillow (counter clockwise)
5/18 Las Vegas Speedway
6/1 Buttonwillow
6/2 Buttonwillow
6/7 Streets of Willow
6/8 Willow Springs
6/9 Willow Springs
6/12 Willow Springs

After the 6/12 WSIR event I slept for 12 hours and vowed to take a long break. That lasted one day, I just signed up for Thunderhill on 6/20 & 6/21 (that's 15 track days in 42 days), The upside is I'm getting faster the downside is all the $$$ I'm spending, I just had to buy my girlfriend a whole new livingroom set so I could continue racing and stay in her good graces.

I'm a sick puppy, is there a 12 step program for this? HELP!!!!!!!

You go man! Sounds like a perfect relationship to me. Just be happy she's not into racing. This way you have a nice home to come and get your 12 hours of sleep in.

Where does Candy fit in to all this?

Phewwww! From the subject line, I was afraid this thread was gonna be about someone "over-soup'ing" or something.

This year has been hard with the economy- I'm hoping to get a year in like that next year, enjoy it! I want to see us do a Viper podium sweep at OTC next year!

Please don't MEGA-FLAME me for this remark: But have you thought about purchasing an all-out race car? Vipers are incredible street cars on the track, but if your going to the track that much, why worry about a streetable car? For example, a Radical SR3 would be a sweet track car. And pricing is reasonable - around $30K. I thought about doing this, but just don't go to the track enough to justify the purchase - Hopefully, this will change...

Thanks for that post. This car looks very good but it costs a lot more than 30K

I see quite a few week days in that track schedule. Man am I jealous! While I'm busy being a corporate tool, there are people at the track.

SoCal Rebell,
1. Consider yourself lucky to be able to do all the Track days you do. 2. Consider yourself lucky that you can afford the luxury of going to all these events. 3. I wish I could be there with you. 4. So what, have fun like is to short. 5. Its my fault you are goin to Thunderhill next week (I told you there was only one spot left and to hurry up and sign up). 6. I'm addicted too, but my daughters softball is First-driving 2nd- wife 3rd(don't tell her).7. I'll be right behind you next Thur-Fri.

Joe B---See you at T-Hill

OneRare, speaking for myself of course, different rides for different thrills. Take a look at the Lotus Elise. Very fast from what I hear, but a completely different thrill than muscling a 488 cid Viper.

Chuck,

Your right. Although, A Viper beats that little Elise around most tracks. The Radical SR3 sets track records left and right. It has over 2 g's in the corners. Car weights under 1000 pounds.

Given, it isn't a torque monster like the Viper. If torque is your thing, the Radical probably won't put a smile on your face. It's powered by a Hayabusa motorcycle engine. I believe around 200 RWHP, give or take. I've never driven one, so they may not be as fun as the Viper.

But some of the track times these cars pull is amazing. 'Track time per dollar' ratio, it would be tought to beat this car.......
