When and where to buy a Vipert SRT-10 ?

Well, I've made the decision. I'm going to buy a brand new Viper SRT-10.

When should I buy it? Should I wait for the 2006 models? When will the 2006 models hit the dealers? What would be different in 2006 SRT-10’s? Any improvements in the HP?

Where can I buy it in Bay Area, California without getting ripped off? How much should I expect to pay? I’ve seen 05 brand new ones going for $79k on Ebay.

It’s going to be either Red or Copperhead. I need to see the copperhead in person though before I can make the call. Do you know any Bay Area Dodge dealer that has a copperhead in their showroom?

Art, I asked all the same questions a few months back on both forums- and the general answer was nothing will change for the SRT in '06. Maybe the wheels, like the Copperhead, and that might be worth it. I bought a '05 since I HAD to have silver, and silver was dissapearing for the '06. Call Bill like the other guys say. Great price, and delivered to your door all nice and shiny.

As of a couple weeks ago, the local Dodge dealer said there had not been a definitive decision as of yet to whether or not a convertible will be offered in '06.

He also said that the coupe would be out after October (late fall)....

Maybe Bill P. has an update?

I just talked to Bill P. and it seems like there is this rumor that there won't be any convertibles produced in 2006. Bill thinks most of the production will be Coupes for 2006 but there will still be some limited number of convertibles.

I am very close to getting a 2005 Viper SRT-10. Any known problems with the year 2005? I know for one thing that the 05 SRT-10's have knock sensors unlike the 03 and 04's.
