SoCal,

The best one out there is called the "Chatterbox".

It's the best in terms of being able to hear the other person with the wind and noise inherent in racing.

It's probably the most $$'s too - about $250 - dunno if that is "reasonable" you were asking for.

Hey Ron,
I got my unit ( Chatterbox ) at the factory. Its in Cerritos Ca. I think you can find them on the net. I will try and find the number tomorrow and post for you.

PS get the portable unit for the passenger side, it can be added quick, has a flexible mic. It is also the brand Skip uses so most of the instructors that have one will plug into your unit.

Where can I get a reasonably priced intercom system to use when I roadrace? One of the instructors at Viperdays had one, it slides up your helmet to your ear with a mike extending to your mouth for communication.

I'd recommend you go with Peltor rather than the motorcycle stuff. All the rally guys use it as they have stuff specifically designed for use in race cars. You can get just headsets or they also sell SA2000 helmets with earpieces and mic's already built in.
