Try Bill Pemberton at 402-426-4126 (Woodhouse Dodge)

and/or

John Gastman at 309-923-7171 (Roanoke Motors)

and/or

Darren Buhler at 732-544-5515 (Buhler Dodge)

Any of the three should be able to ship the car directly to the cargo company. I suspect it will be a US-spec car, as I don't think they are set up for European specs yet for 2008. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

[email protected] = Woodhouse

[email protected] = Roanoke

www.BuhlerViper.com = Buhler, easiest transport to JFK

NOTE: You may have new-car import issues, becasue Chris is correct about 08 BUX...... SWITZERLAND IS STRICT! Talk to your Swiss VCA on issues.

Can't wait to see one these beasts on our roads.
Would be nice to keep us informed how difficult it is to get the new Viper legal over here.

its easy to convert a US spec vehicle for us spin the headlight lamps to point the other way, fit a rear foglight and indicators on the side of the hood, fix on numberplates, job done your road legal

Tators Dodge (just outside New York) and Woodhouse have sent vehicles and are used to exporting into Europe
to avoid sales tax legally it cant be driven, so get the container sent to the dealership and load it up there

Yeah, I'd call Chuck Tator at Tator's Dodge (South Salem, NY, near NY City, closer to JFK Airport)...his #1-914-763-3136...as mentioned by plumcrazy below...pretty sure he can help you out, or at least direct you. GOOD LUCK!!! ~juli

Dealers in the US can no longer Import New Vehicles Overseas ( or even to Canada ) as the vehicles are only Federalized for the 50 United States. Customs verifies each vehicle , so it will show up as New when on an MSO ( Manufacturer's Statement of Origin ). There does not appear to be any issue to send over a used vehicle, but there will not be very many of those available for quite awhile. You also need to check the new laws in your Country , as everyone would love to send Vipers to Switzerland ( home of the largest Viper Club outside the US ), but I believe your laws changed this Summer.

Have patience, and hopefully you can get an 08 sometime in 2008, when one is traded in.

PS- no Vipers are in US Dealerships at present, anyway.

@Bill Pemberton
I hear for first time that's not allowed by us law to ship new cars outside USA, before was only not allowed by Dodge because they want that the people buy from national dealer, anyway i talk to some national dealer here no one think that the 2008 would be official avaible in Switzerland. Some years ago i have already buy a Viper in the USA, the car was new but it was titled for 1 day as i have see to be easier for export.

Yes the law in Switzerland has changed, the 2008 Viper costs much of money to be able to drive here, because its not a "ultra-low emission car" i need to pass here some emission standards (EURO4) which need some work on the car, then we need since 2 month crash test of the car to can title them (but some cantons still dont ask for them :) ) next is the exhaust it need to be a little prepared because its a little bit too loud and after the last one is we need to add a cleaning system for the Xenon Headlight - READY i can drive my toy :drive: as you see its not really easy but for me the only way to can drive a new viper beginning of i hope next year and im ready to do that all. now i only need someone who would sell me the car, im for sure willing to wait for them if i can have them custom ordered.

i have here a viper specialist who do all the above titling-work O. Engel GmbH Fahrzeugtechnik, Fahrzeugzulassungen, EU Homologationen, Motoren, Geräusch- und Abgasstechnik - Welcome and has the expirience.

Thx a lot, i will ask them.

sounds good, i will ask them too! i heard that in UK is much easier to import a car, but never think that is so easy.

@JiPi
as you read below its related too an RT/10 much difficult, but the feeling to drive the car here with an smile in the face is worth it :D

@JonB - PartsRack
Thx, as you see below i know but im ready to do all to can drive this great car. Yes, our country is very strict i has need to remove on my old viper my great catback and cats (great sound - i was loving them) which i buy from you :mad: damn im living in the wrong country...

I thank you all for the great help!! Now i would try to buy my baby.

Greets from Switzerland (a nice country... who would be more nice after the 2008 viper drives on the streets :D)

i was just in switzerland this year. loved it. didn't see a viper though. one thing that blew my mind is how expensive the food is. sometimes more than twice the cost in the US.

If Swiss harmonized their laws with EU then the noise may be unpassable problem without serious and I dare to say magic work on the exhaust. When I registered my Viper in CZ (= Czech... Jagr, Hasek anyone?:) they did a noise test 'by the book' = on the runway on a specially grained tarmac with several passes at certain distance.... to make it short my then_stock viper clocked 82db while the EU regulation allowed for 75db. Then I was explained that these 5 or so plus decibels represented like a double in the noise ( I am no noise expert, dunno). So for Viper to pass it would have to be 50% quieter...

A friend of mine has Euro spec viper which - based on RPM - leads exhaust fumes through a special canister. I am not sure how Dodge managed to get a Euro homologation for this car but it would not pass the noise test either.

Being a Cali car EURO4 Emissions were not a problem. I managed my regs the other way but that may not be available for 08 car. Good luck!

Thx, now i hope one of them would be ready to deal with me. Next week i hope i can finalize it.

@whitebluevipe
ohh yes, the food is not cheap here, but the really bad thing is that you get here in a restaurant for much more money - less food, a real steak lover would not be happy here:eater:

@1TONY1
Thank you! Great to see that im not alone :)

@madman
Switzerland has more restricitve law then EU, some years before my Gen II RT/10 i buy from USA it was allowed with a reference noise of 89db @ 3750rpm (measured 1 meter from catback with 45° to the side) but before i was able to title it, i was need to make a noise test which is done on a closed highway where the inspector is drive the car in 3rd gear at full open throttle and the measurng is done from 7 meter there it was not allowe to have more then 75 db too. the test was only possible with a "prepared" exhaust and the stock michelin wheels (all other weels was too loud).

My actual 05 SRT/10 is an EU one too, it has this ugly "canister" and the noise is filtered trough it, only after high rpm the sidepipe was opened and user for the flow. Our US-Friends can be really happy to dont have this castrated Viper :D If i have know beofre i buy what they have do with the EU Spec Viper i never have buy it, instead i have take one from US too.

As my Viper titling-specialist say regarding the 08 Viper, its not impossible - nothing is impossible - its only a question of $$$. But there is NO car which i would prefer more, then a 08 Viper, and really there is no car which gives you for this bucks so much fun & (horse-)power :drive:

Well, just get a US friend to buy one, and sell it to you. Its not really that hard I guess. You'll get a used one thats never really been used :)

If no one steps up, I dont mind trying to help. I guess you would need Woodhouse to do it though, as I only deal with them :)
