I put in the MGW Gripper knob from Jon B (PartsRack) at his suggestion and am very happy with it. It's priced right, takes about 5 minutes to install and has significantly reduced the throw.

Hurst, B&M and SVS are all good. I have the Hurst and love it but have never heard anything negative about B&M or SVS either. I went with Hurst since that is what the factory uses on the Comp Coupe, so I figured it must be pretty good. Buy whichever one you can get at the best price. No matter which way you go, you won't be dissappointed.

The Hurst has the old school cool white ball with black numerals. Does that matter?

I’m not sure the Hurst shifters come with the ball. They are usually pictured with a ball though. The ball is removable. Remove the ball, install MGW shifter, happiness prevails.

i ordered a B+M, i will get back to you guys when i get it installed
thanks

Rich, I have the B&M. I shortened even more by cutting down the stock shaft and then re threading it. Pulled it down another 1 and a half. I cut off the bottom of the stock shift handle and tapped it. Works great!!!:2tu:

The B&M has not missed a beat or shift since I had it for two years now.

What ever shifter you get, make sure it's got a MGW knob on top! :2tu:

Better yet, get their new shifter and let us know how it works out!

How long is just a bit???

hoping to have the finished products ready by end of the year. i actually have a working shifter in my 06 coupe now but the springs are not strong enough for my liking and we are waiting on custom springs to be made. this is the real hold up.

My car came with a stock shifter and what I believe is the Hurst shifter (Blue anodized aluminium crosspeice with a threaded stud). I switched the stock shifter and ball with a MGW knob. It can't get any shorter than that. The shifter knob barely comes about the console. The MGW knob looks way better than the stocker, but what I gained in less length I added to the effort of shifting.
