I have a noticeable "whine" (sounds like a supercharger) that appears only during deacceleration in 3rd gear.

Anybody know what it might be?

Do you have the K&N intake system installed?

No. The car is stock, with stock 3.07 gears. This is only happening in 3rd gear, although to be fair, I haven't been over 3000 rpm in 5th or 6th gear.

If it was happening in second or fourth, I would assume it is normal, but it's only one gear and not on acceleration.

Stock exhaust as well, at this point.

Thanks for the help

My car 03 did this when new, and eventually quit, but then again it cound have been the brand of gear oil I changed over to, and I'll bet most of you can guess what that was.

The trans. may have just broke in a bit, or maybe all that exhaust and intake mods, shrouded the sound a bit. To tell the truth I can't remenber when it became less noticable.

Remember, car has giant Tremec trans, sitting inches away from you. Those tranys are so hard to break in anyway, and there downright huge.
