OK, Now that we've seen the pictures of the Comp Coup on the Board
today... its now time to unite all the whiners....

We want the coup....coup...coup.... come on Dodge... work out
the details, its going to be a GREAT VIPER.

I agree! And I wouldn't be one to argue & complain about the price of it either. The fact that they'd make it would be good enough for me. If money is an issue then raise the freakin price & bring it on!!

If you (Whiners) are serious there is an easy way to have your voice heard.

Go to VOI7 and met with the PVO Team and let them know what you want. They wanted to know what we wanted(at VOI5&6) and they gave it(SRT10) to us and more.

Whiners the people you should complain to are the Viperholics that attended VOI meetings to let Team Viper (PVO) know what they want in the next Gen. We will be at VOI7! Will you?

I think the comp coupe or SGTS or whatever you want to call it is nothing more than a brick with a wing. It sure doesn't look as good as the SRT.

Anyway, I agree with you. Dodge needs to hurry that into production.

Just read this months Motor Trend and when they summarized the SRT-10, at the very end, they had their official MT "What's Hot & What's Not" section.


Under What's Not..


1. Wish it were 10% lighter.
2. Not everyone wanted the sidepipes back.
3. No Coupe iteration (yet)

Looks like everyone wants the Coupe, not just us.

I would like to see a coupe too - overall I prefer coupes to convertibles.

I think, though, that any coupe DC would make would be a few years away at least, so in the meantime I will take the baddest American hot rod ever produced - the SRT... and if/when a coupe is produced, I will have to think loooong and hard about which one (if any) to sell.

I'm getting a Comp Coupe but would also buy a street version if they made it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember how we showed our support for the Comp coupe in the planning stages..we sent
in checks for 20,000 (which they never cashed).They used our display of support to move
the project forward....
Just thinking outloud...I wonder if they recd about 1000
checks for say 5,000 each if they would re-consider??????
Guess I better shutup or I'll piss them off and they will
pull my comp coupe confirmation.

Dont spend much time on the SRT area as it's not for me, and I don't plan on trashing the car to bits, however.

Sounds like you and Mike really like the car, more power to you, although I'm new to the scene, was the information gathering concerning the SRT at past VOIs in informal talks, interviews, time with DC brass? Was it suggested by current Viper owners to drop the clamshell hood, and make the car less aggresive looking? This is not meant as a "flame" by any means, I love what they did binders, motor, and elsewhere, just wondering if maybe some current GenII owners wanted the less exciting looks?

Wayne, you have a great plan. Telling DC what you want never hurts. The reason the first Viper got built was because of pressure. If there is a group larger than the 20 or so who like to sit here and complain that there is no GTS version in the pipeline, someone should set up a process to take deposit checks, letters, and a prototype version that they would like to see developed for the street, and then submit to DC. A grass roots push will never hurt, that is unless you are simply doing this to voice your displeasure with what you think about the SRT/10?

I would like to be the first to predict that the Street Coupe WILL follow in 2.5 years and hit the scene with at LEAST 550HP.

The HP wars have escalated, gentlemen, and I'm betting Dodge has every intention of upping the ante.
