Who here actually likes the original 3-spoke wheels?

Be decent if they came polished, but I'm personally not a fan of any painted wheel.

IMO all of our wheels would be much better looking if they were deeper, like the original show RT/10.

They served their purpose in a time when they were needed. I'll always like them from that perspective.

I've always liked the three spoke. I've seen lots of people in the years I've played with cars change the wheels on their cars and go with something less attractive. Chomed or polsihed 3 spokes are hard to beat. There aren't many cool wheels on the market.

I thought they were viciously radical, when I first saw them, and loved them immediately. Three spokes is so non-conformist, so dangerous looking. Those rims are definately part of the early Viper mystique. Ah, the good ole' days of Viper!

I also like the rims on my 2001. Good looking and very easy to clean.

Worst rims I've ever had include my 1989 Vette, which had a lot of little nooks and crannys, where the brake dust would coagulate, like sea urchins in a coral reef. Scrub and polish, scrub and polish..Yech! Never use a solvent on an aluminum rim, as it eats away the protective coating, and then you have more massive problems.

Lessons learned!

Likewise on the 1996 Cadillac SDV. Too many little crevices.

Yesterday NE Regional had a get together. Gen I cars were out numbered 5 to 1. Those chrome rims look very nice on a sunny day. I think my subconcious is telling me to get a gen II.
It was awfull nice for them to let me tag along in my 92. Fed me and everything. I didn't even mind when they made me do the dishes.

Patrick,
I also like them for the reasons stated above. I recently saw a black RT/10 with the 3 spokes...chromed...awesome!!!

The chrome 3 spokes on my 93' RT/10 are some of the best looking wheels I've ever seen. I actually like them better than the wheel on my GTS.

Due to the huge offset the three spoke rear wheels are prone to lateral runout. There was a TSB relative to this problem. When I tried to have a set straightened, the shop indicated that this wheel had always been a problem and that buying a new set was the only answer.

I'll be in the minority then and say that I don't like them. There are a few things on the Vipers that turned me off:

Gen I rims
Gen I "smoothie" hood
Gen I color shemes ('96 only, really)

Made the decision for Gen II that much easier

In fact, this board was my source for finding a good chrome wheel company. Only takes a couple of weeks.

Forgot to mention, the chrome wheels are easier to keep clean.

The perfect combination is to replace your RT/10 side stickers with chrome too. Got mine from JonB (Parts Rack). All it took was a hair dryer and a little 3M adhesive remover.
