Who here put on Sean Roe\'s clutch linkage?--need advice

I just got my Sean Roe's clutch linkage. How hard was it to install? How long did it take? Thanks in advance. Did it really make a big difference?

I put one on my 97 GTS about a year ago. Very easy but you do need to get your head under the dash which is very awkward. Instructions are great as they have been for all of Sean's stuff. Let me know if you have any trouble.

I must say that after installing mine, I was somewhat dissappointed that the clutch pedal was still a good bit higher than my brake pedal. I had expected that it would bring them to an even position, but the clutch is still a good 1/2" or more ahead of my brake pedal. Just my experience.

Jason Heffner installed my Roe Racing clutch linkage and it made quite a bit of difference in the clutch pedal height. It made it a lot easier to do heel to toe shifting. It also made it a lot easier to shift without hitting my left knee on the kick panel. Highly recommended along with the seat lowering kit from Northwind Engineering if you're over 6'.

I installed it and didn't notice any difference in height. Infact, I have to push down even further to get the clutch in so I can shift. i sent Sean Roe an e-mail to see what I possible might have done wrong or I may have misunderstood it's purpose all together.
I thought it would shorten the clutch throw like the ferraris' and also lower the pedal closer to the floor so I wasn't having to raise my foot to push the clutch.

My install did not lower the clutch pedal even with the other pedals. It did lower the pedal slightly.

Installed after less that 100 miles of having the car. I was getting calf cramps holding my foot up. Look about 20 minutes (with the help of Cone's Viper shop) and the only issue is the pesky retaining washer type clips.

I think it makes the car safer and much easier to drive.

I had the link put on my 2001 and now i can get by with
extending my leg half way and shift; instead of fully extending my leg. After talking with Sean he advised i only need to put my foot to the floor for start up. After that half way is enough to fully engage the clutch. So much quicker shifts. I love it.!!!

Maybe I'm missing something here, but the clutch doesn't seem to lower itself with the linkage. The clutch is attached to the pedal box assembly and can't go up and down..just forward and backwards. I would think a longer link would shorten the throw...and the clutch wouldn't have to travel as far to push the hydrualic clutch pump..thingy..

I guess I'm missing something here. I need to lower my clutch so I'm not always having to keep my foot in the air to push the clutch in...

Re: Who here put on Sean Roe\'s clutch linkage?--need advice

Hi Guys,
Sorry I did not respond faster. I left the shop Thursday morning for the Viper Days event in Nevada and did not have internet / email access. I sent Adam an e-mail about his pedal not coming down. It's "possible" that that the previous owner put one on already (we've made several hundred of the links).
The shorter link changes both the height of the pedal and the relationship of the bellcrank assembly. As it was mentioned before, you don't need to push the pedal to the floor to shift. It only takes about 1/2 way.

Sean, after an install, should the clutch be even with the brake pedal.. mine is still higher. Will it vary between vehicles?

Hi Richard,
Yes, it can and does vary between cars. We can't lower the clutch pedal any more as there is not enough clearance in the bellcrank assembly.
